The living areas in the property consist of a kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and coffee machine, a utility with washing machine and tumble dryer, a living/dining room, and a sitting room/playroom with TV. The bedrooms consist of three doubles, and a further double with en-suite, serviced by a bathroom and a cloakroom. Outside there is an enclosed rear garden with lawn, barbecue, patio and furniture, and a private driveway for two cars. Within 0.5 miles you will find a shop and within 0.8 miles, a pub and please note that this is a non-smoking and pet-free property. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Altair is a lovely escape for families or groups of friends to enjoy all that the Isle of Wight has to offer.

Location Details
Freshwater, which comprises of Freshwater Village and Freshwater Bay, is located in the westernmost point of the Isle of Wight. A good mix of independent local businesses, eateries, and the West Wight Sports Centre and Indoor Swimming Pool are available in Freshwater Village. All year long, a lot of tourists and surfers flock to Freshwater Bay and the adjoining Compton Bay because of the stunning towering chalk cliffs, rolling downs, and lovely beaches there. While the area is a haven for birdwatchers, cyclists, and walkers with many wonderful walks to be enjoyed not only on West Wight but across the entire Isle of Wight crisscrossing over a much-varied island landscape, the renowned Freshwater Bay Golf Club, which overlooks the English Channel, offers a superb day out for golfers of all abilities. The most well-liked hikes in the area are those along Tennyson Down and Afton Down, the latter of which hosted the renowned Isle of Wight Music Festival in 1970. The Photographic Galleries and Dimbola Museum are located at the base of Tennyson Down. Just south-west of Freshwater lies the Needles Pleasure Park in Alum Bay, which features coloured sand cliffs and a chairlift to the beach. A little farther away, on the Isle of Wight's northern shore, is Cowes, the world's foremost yachting hub. East Cowes is the location of Osborne House, the former residence of Queen Victoria. The British Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson, once resided at the close-by Farringford Hotel on the edge of Freshwater Bay, and over time, the West Wight region has drawn many renowned writers, painters, and poets. This is an excellent location for a relaxing vacation because Yarmouth, a seaside town, is nearby with its bustling harbour and pier, shops, inns, restaurants, and majestic Tudor castle.

We had a great holiday here, four adults and two young children. The property is very comfortable and well equipped. The owner sent us a welcome message and was very responsive to a couple of minor problems/queries we had, getting everything sorted very quickly. We would definitely stay here again.
Not the best first impression. Arrived after the arrival time stated after a long journey - the cleaner was still in the house. We were obliged to leave and returned a few hours later - tired and on a rainy day this was the last thing we needed. Not the cleaners fault but the owners were contacted and gave a luke warm response. I would have liked some form of apology in the way of an extra hour at the end of the holiday but nothing was offered. The bedrooms are not as described. It was advertised as four doubles. Instead there are two doubles, a twin room and a single room. This had a pull out for a child at best. This needs to be advertised correctly. Kitchen is dated and there was white mould on one cabinet making it unusable. Luckily there were other cupboards to use. It was well equipped. A coffee machine was provided but no coffee capsules despite the instructions left. So pointless. Taps leaked. With a new kitchen the price mark may have been justified. The black wheelie bin was full on arrival so made removing rubbish a chore. The beds we found comfortable the showers were good. Would we stay again? No purely because of the owners lack of understanding to our terrible arrival.
