Location Details
One of the real Cornish jewels is Port Isaac. The old village in the valley, a charming fishing community nestled in a valley with steep sides, has not altered since the previous century, when it was a centre for smuggling, slate export, and fishing. You can find a lot of little character homes mixed in with bigger cliff-top retreats, all with convenient access to the village's many eateries and shops. As the water recedes, the sandy harbour offers an abundance of rock pools. It is ideal for both romantic getaways and family vacations because it is only ten minutes by car from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer, and Rock. At the peak of the village, there is plenty of parking.
Reviews
First impressions and location are lovely. However, the apartment was quite dirty, surfaces were sticky and areas of the apartment stank of urine. The sofa was dirty as were the cushions, mats and floor. The bed in the single bedroom was so uncomfortable as the mattress was very thin and the springs were quite obvious. Conversations in the pasty shop below could be heard word for word early in the morning so any hope of a relaxing start to the day could be forgotten. The apartment is not quirky but just functional as a holiday let and could do with a serious update. Take time to look around online before you book as there are lots of nicer properties in Port Isaac at the same cost or less. On a positive note, the location of the apartment is fantastic and the lady who lives below is really helpful.
