Reviews

Booked this ‘supposedly’ luxury 16th century cottage with a view to stay a week with our 2 children. We arrived around 5:30pm after a 5 hour drive from the north west, really looking forward to unpacking and relaxing. Unfortunately, the minute we opened the back door which leads into a utility room, we could see the place was dirty. There were dead and alive insects everywhere! Cobwebs all over the place, flies and wasps around the windows and even on the toilet paper in the bathroom. There were insects around the edges of the carpets in the bedroom. Squished dead insects on the ceilings in 2 of the bedrooms. The owners tried to excuse this as, I quote ‘it comes with the territory’ and even if we cleaned them all up, they’d be back in a few hours!! We have over 70 pictures of the level of filth, so please don’t be fooled by the airbrushed photos! The place was tidy but was absolutely not clean. If you don’t mind staying in somewhere you’ll be sharing with hundreds of bugs flies and wasps then great. But owners you should make this clear on your description. To me, it would be like sleeping in the shed only with carpet a comfy bed and painted walls! Anyway, the place was so bad, the children and I wouldn’t stay there and we booked a premier inn. The owner refused to refund so we have no summer holiday.
