Located on the coast of south Devon, not far from Seaton, is the charming fishing village of Beer. A fertile smuggling ground in its day, the shingle beach is today a popular tourist destination because to its relative seclusion and the neighbouring caverns, which were formerly used to conceal illegal goods. Beer is a small village in Devon, England, notable for its location on the Jurassic Coast, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its winding lanes lined with magnificent stone houses and cottages built at varying elevations up the steep valley sides. Beer has a variety of stores, cafes, restaurants, and pubs to choose from, and just beyond the village is the much visited Pecorama Gardens, which offer breathtaking views of Lyme Bay. Pecorama has an indoor model railroad show, the Beer Heights Light Railway, and a children's play area. Beer, a tiny fishing village in Devon, is a wonderful spot to visit and stay.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
