Location Details

The Wyre Borough of Lancashire's little town of Garstang is renowned for proclaiming itself the first Fairtrade town in the world. This small town, which is well-known for its delicious locally produced goods, welcomes you with open arms and has a variety of specialty and independent stores where you can buy a variety of goodies. Don't forget to stop by the local cheesemongers for a wedge of premium Lancashire cheese! Every Thursday, the street market is another fun place to shop. The tranquil Lancaster Canal runs straight through the middle of the town, where you can see the passing canal boats and take in the plethora of wildlife it supports. In fact, the adjoining Millennium Green, a location on the western bank of the River Wyre, has been set aside for community gatherings and the conservation of wildlife. Admire the views of the Bowland Hills before visiting the High Street, where there are many pubs, cafes, and restaurants where you can experience the friendliness of the locals. You can also visit Old Holly Farm and the Braedens Pony Trekking Center, which are wonderful family outings. Great walking opportunities may be found in the surrounding area, and trips to the RSPB nature reserves in Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay are highly recommended. This is a terrific family place to visit since it is close to the Trough of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it is also convenient to Blackpool, Morecambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal, Windermere, and the breathtaking Lake District National Park.

Benefitting from its Georgian capital city Lancaster, popular for its tourist attractions of Lancaster Castle, Williamson Park and the wonderful Way of the Roses cycling route, Lancashire offers a range of hidden gems you won't want to miss. With Blackpoo
