The stunning Newlands Valley is nearby, situated between Braithwaite and Buttermere, and the charming Bassenthwaite Lake is definitely worth a visit. Everything from a leisurely stroll through the countryside to a strenuous walk up Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells is available. Visit the Jennings Brewery, Mirehouse, a magnificent home and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, or go on a wonderful boat tour of Derwentwater. Any time of year, this is a terrific Lakeland visit because to the abundance of family-friendly attractions, beautiful parks, and the neighbouring Lake District Wildlife Park.
