The Snug has now been transformed into a cosy, dog-friendly cottage for couples using a mixture of one off pieces of furniture and quality fixtures which gives guests a feel of luxury living throughout. Ideally located in the heart of the village of Embleton with fine views of the sea and Dunstanburgh Castle ruins from the mezzanine seating area. Embleton is a small village dating back beyond medieval times with a number of restaurants and pubs on your doorstep, a local village shop and garage which lies just a mile from the Northumberland Coast. One of the main attractions is the stunning Embleton Bay, a gloriously wide sandy beach that appears to stretch for miles. ACCOMMODATION (GROUND FLOOR with internal steps down to the kitchen and shower room) Open plan kitchen / dining and living area. Lounge with large comfy sofa, multi fuel stove, Smart TV and music system. Dining table and chairs. King-size bed. Mezzanine floor accessed via a narrow spiral staircase with a seating area and table with views of the sea and towards Dunstanburgh Castle. Down 4 steps to: Kitchen with ceramic hob and electric oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and coffee machine. Underfloor heating. Shower room with shower cubicle, WC and basin with underfloor heating. OTHER FACILITIES Private parking for 1 car. Enclosed patio area (gravel) to the front with furniture. Electric heaters. All power, bed linen & towels are included in rent. One well-behaved dog welcome. The Snug is adjacent to East Farm Croft and can accommodate 6 guests in total

Location Details
The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
Reviews
The cottage looks lovely at 1st sight....BUT once you are in you start to notice that it's in need of repairs, painting and a really good clean. The log burner was dirty. And the Windows of burner black and all marks and scratches on it. Looked shabby. And take your own wood... The holiday let doesn't look like it's been painted in a while. The fridge is broken freezer door wouldn't close.and no light. Some of the kitchen cupboards needed repairing (no back in one) The kitchen tap broken Cooker needed a good clean. The bathroom shower needed a good clean especially were the shower door runs. The outside OK but the planters haven't been weeded. The property is up for sale so I presume that's why. But for what we paid I expected better. Sykes are not replying to my complaints. I wouldn't book with them again.
