Location Details
This charming Ribblesdale community is located inside a National Park and is home to two pubs, a fine Norman church, and many charming traditional Dales buildings. The breath-taking scenery provides the perfect setting for fell trekking, and the famous Three Peaks Walk, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough offer some of the toughest hikes in the nation. The community is traversed by the renowned Settle-Carlisle Railway, which also goes through some of the nation's most breath-taking and inspiring highland landscapes. A steam train crossing across the top of the spectacular Ribblehead viaduct, which was finished in 1870, is an experience not to be missed.

Great little cottage in the middle of Horton in Ribblesdale. It is the perfect place to stay if you are doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks. We started and finished the walk from the front door of the cottage. It is then only about 5 steps for your tiered legs across the road to the pub. Very well stocked with everything we needed for the stay. We ate in one night and ate at the pub for the second night. The only thing that needs improving are the mattresses on the beds. You could feel every spring when you laid down, and after a hard days walking it would have been great to have a comfy bed, rather than it feeling like a plastic bag full of springs. Apart from that I can very much recommend staying here.
