You can reach Portland Harbour and the untamed "Isle" of Portland, which is connected to Weymouth by the breathtaking Chesil Beach, after a little drive. Only 7 miles away is Thomas Hardy's "Casterbridge" in Dorchester. You may also travel the beautiful coastline route and stop at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens.
