Location Details

Grosmont, a picturesque village on the North Yorkshire Moors, is located at the confluence of the Esk and Murk Esk rivers. The area is known for its winding roads, high hills, and beautiful vistas of rolling farmland and open moorland. Geographically located in "Heartbeat Country," Grosmont is well known as the hub of the North York Moors Steam Railway. Since 1973, enthusiasts have restored and operated the Railway, which now sees over 300,000 riders annually. There are several different types of shops in the hamlet, including a grocery store, a post office, a bookstore, an art gallery, and several cafes and a bar. A convenient home base for trips to the North York Moors National Park and the North Yorkshire Coast's charming seaports and inland villages, the Esk Valley is dotted with picturesque farming communities.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
