Belonging to the parish of Cirencester, the village is located just a short drive from Sapperton to the west, and Barnsley to the east, and is best known for its position on the Ermine Street Roman Road. In the village, visitors will find a SPAR convenience store that sells homely essentials, the pubs of the Drillmans Arms and The Plough Inn, The Garden Restaurant, along with the lush greens of Stratton Park and the neighbouring Cirencester Golf Club.
