Millbrook may be found on the Rame Peninsula, sometimes known as "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner," nestled in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that feeds to the Hamoaze, directly across from the ancient naval city of Plymouth. A region of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is largely rural and bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze, and the sea. Shops and taverns abound in the area, and nearby Kingsand and Cawsand are as picturesque as they are convenient (you can get a boat to Plymouth from there). Numerous scenic trails with breathtaking panoramas of Rame Head may be found around the peninsula's southern shores. Whitsand Bay, with its miles of empty, sandy, RNLI-patrolled beach and stunning cliffs, is just a mile south of Millbrook. It's a great place to stay when exploring Cornwall's wilder side.
