Located between the two popular walled towns of Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland is the quaint and scenic village of Belford. The picturesque fishing village of Bamburgh and its impressive castle are easily accessible by car. The village of Belford is a historic coaching stop that has preserved its charming square and a wide selection of local businesses, including stores, taverns, and restaurants. Conveniently located for day trips to the Scottish Borders, the Cheviot Hills, and the beautiful Northumberland coastline. It would be a shame to miss out on a day excursion to the adjacent Farne Islands, where you can see a bird refuge and a seal colony through one of the many boat trips that leave from Seahouses every day. Or, if the tides are right, you might make the short journey to Holy Island and the ancient Lindisfarne Priory.
