This little cottage is a beautiful retreat to come home to at the end of the day. Perfect facilities, it has everything you would need, to cook, eat etc, everything is clean, in fact the bathroom is just refurbished, a perfect garden for the dog too. good wifi, which is useful, with a central location. be sure to return with essentials, milk etc as the nearest shop is a few miles away. we found a nice dog walk just metres away called forresters walkway. entrance by road sign some 30 meters to the right of the pub. unfortunately we missed the pub as it only opens for drinks fri/sat/sun 4 - 11. very handy if you stay over the weekend though! a beautiful cottage to base your stay.

Home from home. It's a fabulous cottage with everything you could wish for that also caters for our Border Collie (who always travels with us). Thank you Fiona.

We found ourselves needing accommodation for a couple of weeks due to an emergency home repair, Skye Blue was absolutely perfect, a proper home from home with everything we needed. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage, the icing on the cake was the way Fiona settled us in then made us feel like the cottage was our private space. A bad situation was made bearable thanks to Fiona and Skye Blue

An absolutely beautiful cottage in a fantastic location with a lovely, kind and helpful owner. Fiona went out of her way to help me set up the cottage to best accommodate my two dogs. I had to leave early because one of my dogs was very poorly but even then Fiona wanted to know what she could do to help as she knew I was travelling alone. Cannot recommend it highly enough and will definitely rebook.

Thank you Fiona for a lovely stay. All the little essentials were taken care of, down to bags of treats for the dogs, a dog towel, dog bed, and bowls. Fiona even remembered to put in a baby gate that we had asked for when we first booked. Cottage itself is lovely, comfiest bed we have ever slept in, very well equipped and in a fantastic location very close to a friendly pub, quiet area with lovely scenery and great for walking the dogs. Also has a secure garden. Fiona was very helpful, taking care to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we could want. Would recommend visiting New Lanark. Look forward to returning.

Just back from a great holiday in this fabulous cottage. We knew from first speaking to Fiona on the telephone that this was going to be excellent. The cottage was comfortable, warm and clean with everything catered for to enjoy a superb holiday. The bed was super comfy too. Fiona had even left out things for our dog, bed if required, dishes, toys and treats, who could ask for more. Our dog loved the enclosed long garden because he could at last have a run, our own garden being a bit small for him. The Pub two doors up from the cottage serves excellent meals and the owners and staff there are super friendly. The scenery and places to visit within an hour of the cottage are superb. Fiona gave us loads of information on places to go and the best routes to find them, but there were also lots of leaflets in the cottage. We wouldn't hesitate in booking this cottage again in the future, we felt at home and relaxed there.

Arrived late, owner (Fiona) went out of way to arrange collection of key locally then came to show us around on arrival @ 21.30. Very welcoming. Went beyond to sort out a personal problem that occurred while we were there. Cottage much larger than the photos show, just like the tardis. Located in a small rural village, very friendly people, Pub just 2 doors away, shop within easy reach. Perfect base to tour the area Thank you for wonderful stay, would recomend a visit

Warm welcome by Fiona owner of the cottage who has excellent local knowledge of village and surrounding area. Decorated to a high standard and very clean. Enclosed garden with seating. Brilliant for my black labrador - no worries of him escaping. Lovely local country walks. Village pub serves good food at weekends - Frank and Jan excellent landlords. All in all a very pleasant and relaxing cottage. Loved everything about it and would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the Scottish Borders. I shall hopefully stay again soon.

Location of the cottage, the cleanliness and how we were made to feel very welcome by the owner who although she couldn't be there when we arrived, made a point of visiting during our stay to make sure everything was to our liking. Much appreciated! And also the fact that it was dog friendly is very important so that we can bring our border terrier with us.

This is a lovely cottage, tastefully decorated and very comfortably furnished. The owner makes you feel welcome and makes sure that everything will be OK for you. The village is peaceful and accessible to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and a trip to New Lanark Mill is worth the time. This has to be one of the best cottages we have stayed in and would recommend to family and anyone looking for somewhere quiet to unwind.

The cottage was beautiful; perfect in every way. Braehead is a great area for sightseeing, near Edinburgh and lots of lovely places to see. Two doors from the cottage is a pub, which serves terrific food (it only serves food Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Although there are other places close by. We had a great holiday and although it was mid October the weather was kind to us. The cottage was lovely and warm at night. A place to return to.

Welcomed by Fiona the owner who gave detailed information about this lovely cottage and had kindly offered to get milk for arrival. Property is well equipped with large comfortable rooms and excellent shower, large enclosed garden with table and chairs, I ate outside on 3 occasions in a week. Weather was great. Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and dog. The owner was very pleasant and met us at the cottage and explained everything and gave us information about happenings in the area. We found the cottage to be well decorated, it looks new, well stocked with equipment in the kitchen which all worked well. All was comfy and pleasant. All rooms are downstairs except the actual bedroom. This was comfy and there were plenty of towels and pillows provided. The bathroom is downstairs and was new and clean with a nice big shower. Place very dog friendly, with large lawned back yard and the owner provided dog bowls, towel, poo bags and some biscuits. Lovely to see. The only disappointment was that the cottage is on the main road of the village, so although the village is small and quiet all traffic goes past your front door. I wish this was advertised for all cottages, because if you are not used to being so close to the road it can be off putting. There is also no parking, we parked across the road on a side street which although safe, isn't perfect. There is no shop in the village but the pub is 2 doors down and provides a good feed on Friday - Sundays. If not you need to drive about 5 miles to Forth. There is no wifi although we bought 5 days use of BT which worked ok at most times. Phone coverage is also a bit iffy.

First Class tidy little cottage, well equipped, the owner could not have been more helpful, leaving us a pint of milk and 2 ready meals for arrival, although we got held up with roadworks she (Mrs Orr) kept in touch by phone and was there to greet us at 9.30 in the evening to show us round the cottage, explaining the workings of the appliances etc, a pleasant change for Sykes Cottages. We will definately be back in the summer

The communication and local information received from the owner of the cottage. She could not have been more helpful and just so keen to make us feel welcome. She even left a pint of milk and two ready meals for our arrival and notified the local Public House that we would want to eat there. The service she offered was second to none.
