A quaint and desirable community at the mouth of Mylor Creek, which rises from the depths of Carrick Roads, the third largest deep water harbour in the world. The area is typified by its proximity to water and the presence of boats and sailing, its wooded creeks, its gently lapping water, its riverside pubs, and its fabulous gardens. There is a Post Office, a good pub, and a number of restaurants within walking distance in this warm and welcoming village. The nearby town of Falmouth is a great day trip thanks to its Maritime Museum, castle, beaches, and marina, and Truro, the Cathedral City, with its famous cobblestone streets, theatres, museums, and lively shopping centre, should not be missed either. Take a drive or a boat ride from Falmouth up the breathtakingly beautiful Helford River, and while you're there, don't miss the horticultural treats of the year at Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens. The Lizard Peninsula, with its cliffs, beaches, and fishing villages, is within easy driving distance, and so are the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
