Only 5.5 miles south of Christchurch, on the south coast, lies the clifftop village of Barton on Sea, which is adjacent to the busy town of New Milton. Located near the eastern tip of Christchurch Bay, Hurst Castle is visible to the east, Christchurch, and Hengistbury Head to the west. There are also stunning views across the Solent towards 'The Needles' on the western tip of the Isle of Wight. In the direction of Lymington, where you can board one of the frequent ferries to the Isle of Wight, the seaside route meanders beside the neighbourhood golf course. Visit the National Motor Museum or the breathtaking gardens at Exbury, and explore the lovely New Forest National Park with its wild ponies and charming villages.
