Location Details

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Reviews

Just back from a few days here and for us it was perfect! Away from the hustle of Haworth but close enough that we walked and returned on the bus that stops straight outside. The views are beautiful. We walked to Brontë waterfalls and top withens which has to be done! No main roads as the house is situated right at the start! The house it’s self was perfect I think it’s recently been renovated as all the amenities seemed new. The stair case too is beautiful I fell in love with it. The hosts were very accommodating and gave us advice where to visit before we arrived. Hebden Bridge was lovely as well as Haworth for visiting. There are three local pubs in the village but unfortunately no shop but we got what we needed from Haworth. The house was warm, spotless and we really didn’t want to leave. Looking forward to returning again as we discovered there are many beautiful walks in this area and ponden res that have water sports which I must try in the summer. Thank you so much and see you again soon!!
