Trusthorpe is a small seaside village resting between Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, Lincolnshire. The village is known for its sandy coastline and offers a choice of attractions nearby, including Lincolnshire Aquapark and Watersports lake and the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB. Dining options include The Seacroft Bar for a classic British menu, while you can stock up on essentials at the nearby general store and off licence. Just outside of Trusthorpe lies the coastal town of Mablethorpe, where you can find further attractions and amenities such as Queens Park, the golden sands of Mablethorpe Beach, The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre, and a colourful Promenade lined with classic seaside entertainments. Further afield you'll find Louth, Ingoldmells, and Horncastle all within easy reach.

Stayed with Sykes over many years at many locations and have never had any concerns with cleaning issues until now. It began with the lounge table with the integrated chairs. On removing them, the cupboard was dusty with cobwebs. The floor and carpet needed sweeping, leaving a tumbleweed of dust, crumbs and dog hairs. The bathroom basin had a greasy film and behind the toilet, the tiles and pipework hadn't been cleaned for months, maybe longer. The kitchen was the area of main concern. The underside of the bowl and crockery/cutlery stand were slimy and the drainer, sink and worktop needed wiping down. Had to remove the shelves in the fridge for cleaning and there were food stains in the fridge itself. The toaster was splattered with what looked like tea stains and the crumb tray not emptied from new by the look of it. The bin looked as if it had been used at some point without the black bag, food remnants and hairs in the bottom. It spent a night outside with some water and bleach. An overall shocking standard. Any good points: Yes, actually. Adequate facilities, smart TV was a bonus, lovely garden area, off road parking and good location. Local amenities nearby, easy walking to Sutton and Mablethorpe with regular bus service if preferred, also serving Skegness. Hence my generous 2 stars. But as they say, there's only one opportunity to make a first impression
