Reviews

The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The cottage was beautiful with a large lounge and perfect shower room. It had everything you would need for a holiday with a fully equipped kitchen (including a large fridge freezer). The Scenery was lovely with the River Wye at the bottom of the garden. Fishing is available for the garden stretch and two other stretches nearby. There is a large patio which was full of blooming flowers at the time of my stay and I would recommend this cottage to anybody looking for a quiet relaxing holiday - but bear in mind that Hereford with all it's facilities is only a short drive away

There is no hedge/fence between this and the next door (the Swans, same owner). only a short trellis.

Stayed here in January for a quiet weekend break. Fantastic property, spotlessly clean and Denise the owner was great from booking, directions and meet and greet, nothing was too much trouble. The views over the garden to the river were beautiful. I took the opportunity to fish the river and the owner arranged this for me. I would recommend this for anybody wanting a peaceful country break with plenty to do and see in the area.

We wanted a relaxed getaway and this accommodation was just perfect. Herons is a home from home with everything you can want, it was so clean and comfortable with plenty of room. It is situated in a superb location with the river wye running through the garden which was well kept. The views were beautiful and plenty of wildlife. The owner Denise was a real treasure and so friendly and accomadating. So if you want a jewel this is a must.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Herons and as usual we received a very warm welcome from the owner. The Herons is a spotlessly clean and well furnished apartment. With the River Wye running at the bottom of the well maintained garden it is a great place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Would certainly recommend.

Very well appointed apartment, much careful thought seems to have gone into equipping it. Wonderful view from the living room and kitchen! Real sun-trap outside the living-room window, we managed to sit out one day with a cup of tea even though it was the beginning of March.

A beautiful location and overall one of the best (of many) self-catering apartments we've stayed in. Would struggle to find any faults/scope for improvements. There was lots to do and see locally.

This apartment is situated in the most glorious location overlooking the River Wye and is peaceful and quiet. The sitting room soaks up the south facing sunshine and if the weather is good, the patio is great for meals outside. The owner is delightful and makes a big attempt to make sure her guests are comfortable.

This has to be one of the greatest places I have had the privilege to stay in, far exceeded my expectations, the quality was exceptional as was the owner, a sheer delight, pure bliss. I felt like I had been dropped in heaven, thank you.

Very friendly warm welcome by the owner, who made sure everything was just as we needed it. Although the owner's house was above the apartment there was no intrusion and we had all the privacy that we wanted. The garden was fantastic and we were able to enjoy just sitting on the patio watching the wildlife in the garden and on the river Wye. Accommodation was excellent, lovely, clean and tidy. Would certainly recommend and would hope to go back again. The warm sunny weather was an added bonus!

The Herons is about 8 miles west of Hereford and not far off the main road. The Herons is one of two single bedroom apartments built underneath the owners beautiful house. The other apartment being called "Swans". Do not be put off by this layout as privacy is adequate and you are not overlooked. The river is at the bottom of the lovely sloping garden with no other buildings in sight. Denise is a very helpful host and can advise on place to visit if required although there is plenty of information in the apartment. Highly recommended and would love to go back.

This is an exceptionally well presented apartment in a perfect location. Made very welcome from the moment of arrival. The first ever self-catering property that we are unable to make even the smallest suggestion regarding facilities or equipment! Perfect.

Rated by Mr Chowns reviewed on 20th October 2013

The location and views were exceptional. The accommodation was very comfortable, with everything in good condition and spotlessly clean. In addition the property owner was most welcoming and helpful without being at all intrusive. We would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday home to family and friends. No negative comments at all.

Herons is situated in peaceful and beautiful countryside. We loved being able to sit on the patio and look down to the River Wye. The owner has provided accommodation of an exceptionally high standard. The apartment was spotlessly clean and everything we needed had been provided. Information on the local area was readily available, and the owner on hand to give us some useful tips about places to visit. We would love to stay at Herons again in the future.

Peaceful, comfortable and perfect situation. Weather fantastic. Lovely area to visit with plenty to do and see. The owner is a very welcoming host. Farm Shop down the road very good for all supplies. We didn't eat out - it was too tempting to sit on the patio with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

Rated by Mrs Beavan reviewed on 10th June 2013

We loved the accommodation, very well appointed and with views of the River Wye to boot ! Very quiet and restful holiday. If only we had gone in the summer months so we could sit on the patio and sip wine enjoying the ambience. Lovely place to stay

Finding Herons was everything we were looking for. We were so blessed by what we found it truly was an answer to prayer. Our accommodation was to the highest of standards, clean, comfortable, warm and homely. I think that says it all. The views from Herons overlooking the river Wye are stunning. Would highly recommend. From 2 very satisfied guests, who will be returning later in the year.

The location of the accommodation was delightful - weather was fantastic - riverside site was great - quality of accommodation and hospitality of hosts were 1st class - as a self catering holiday, nothing was too much bother for the owners who left us to enjoy a quiet, relaxing time together. Brilliant. Centrally located for lots of things to see and do.

It may have been cold during our stay in March but Herons more than made up for the weather. The views of the River Wye were lovely from both inside and outside Herons. It was very clean and well appointed and could`nt be faulted. We would certainly recommend to friends. The thought of returning in summer and having a glass of wine on the terrace is very tempting !
