North Woodchester is a rural village resting between the village of Selsley and the town of Nailsworth in the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is known for being moments away from an array of outdoor sights, including the stunning Selsley Common, home to the hiking area of The Toots Long Barrow. The delights of Boundary Court Farm, Woodchester Mansion and Coaley Peak can also be found nearby. Dining options include The Royal Oak, a traditional pub serving up hearty cuisine; alternatively, you can grab essentials for home-cooked meals from the local Post Office/village shop. Within easy reach of the village is the sprawling town of Stroud, home to additional eateries and shops to ease a visit, along with the wonders of Stratford Park with its museum, the enchanting Sladebank Woods and the nearby Stroud Brewery & Taproom can be found.

Staying at Coronation Cottages was an absolute delight ! From the hamper I found greeting me on my arrival to my departure I could not fault anything. The entrance leads you to the stairway , or the lounge, which is well decorated and comfortably furnished, with a 3 seater sofa and a separate chair, coffee table, TV and video, plus a chest in the corner. The room is well lit and cosy, quite relaxing after your drive down. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have ever used, light during the day and well lit at night, with a table and chairs for you to sit and enjoy your meals. To the left there is a further space with hanging for coats and also 2 bicycle hanging spaces if you have them. there is also a downstairs toilet there. The bedroom is lovely, plenty of space and the most comfortable bed ever ! A large wardrobe and another cupboard to store your luggage, plus the drawer space is enough for a much longer stay. The bathroom is spacious and well lit, the walk-in shower is great for that first thing freshening ! In my week there I was not disturbed nor did I want for anything. Jon and Annabel have put a lot into making this a comfortable and charming home from home, their efforts have not been wasted and I would definitely stay again.
