Drumshanbo is a traditional Irish town located in the heart of County Leitrim. It is home to some lively Irish pubs, mouth watering restaurants and quaint shops, and also plays host to a number of popular festivals which are held throughout the year. Walkers and ramblers will be delighted to learn that the town is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, woodlands and lakes, as well as being overlooked by Sliabh an Iarainn, the iron mountain, which is approximately 585 metres high and has a mining history dating back over 200 years. To the north of the town is Lough Allen, the third largest lake on the River Shannon, with excellent angling and opportunities for windsurfing, canoeing and other water sports. If golf is your game, you will find four excellent courses within easy reach. Drumshanbo has something for everyone, whatever time of year you choose to visit.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
