The Hall - also close by - is an impressive country mansion with gardens, which is open to the public. There are wonderful walking and cycling opportunities close to the village, as well as numerous trails and which incorporate the local woodland and rivers. The Cambrian Mountains and the spectacular Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) are also close by and offer slightly more challenging terrain. Visitors can enjoy a trip to Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader or Builth Wells, all of which boast a variety of shops, museums, craft centres, pubs, tea-rooms and restaurants. Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Just returned from a wonderful holiday, the cottage was perfect, everything we needed and more,a lovely garden and a pub next door which never bothered us at all.The mattresses were the best we have ever slept on and spotless linen.A lovely cake to welcome us and tea, coffee and milk. The photos dont do this hidden gem justice,I would highly reccomend.
Such a wonderfully warm and cost cottage, especially at Christmas time. The owners had thoughtfully put up a decorated Christmas tree in the lounge. Lovely large kitchen which was very well equipped. We had snow which made everything very seasonal and made walking our spaniel extra fun. The Hall, which was opposite, was well worth a visit in order to see the 50 + Christmas trees on display. Tiny pub a few steps away and we enjoyed a game of pool one evening.
Gorgeous, peaceful and relaxing. It was everything we wanted and needed!
The cottage was very comfortable and well presented, the fact that all bedrooms were en suite was fantastic and we really liked the the lovely farmhouse style kitchen. The friendliness of the owners and their generosity was humbling. An absolutely brilliant holiday in a fantastic part of the country. It was a good central base for exploring scenic Wales.
We had a lovely time. The cottage was great and everyone was really friendly.
The location of the property was excellent, very secluded and quiet. Great central base for visiting local sights.
The cottage was clean, cozy and comfortable with plenty of space. John and Karen the host and the village inn were very welcoming. The surrounding countryside was amazing. We will certainly go back.
The cottage was really well equipped, a lovely garden, it was quiet, but not to far from most places to visit, the owners where very helpful, also well equipped for hildren
Lovely property, good garden, friendly people and central for a lot of sight seeing.
We really loved the location of Tailor's Cottage, especially having the pub next door with such friendly owners. It was great to have an en-suite bathroom for each room. We also really appreciated the bara brith and flowers on arrival. Overall an excellent cottage!
A warm friendly welcome from the owners was only the start of a fantastic holiday. The perfect cottage was a fitting base to visit all of the superb local sites.
Beautiful location near lovely church and interesting hall. Good facilities and equipment for eating in.
Lovely location. Very peaceful. Would recommend to anyone.
A lovely venue and very good value for money - perfect for our needs.
My wife, myself and two friends stayed at this lovely property during the week of the Royal Welsh Show and were overwhelmed by the friendliness not only of the owners, John and Karen Jones, but of the local people who frequented John and Karen's pub at night. The property is very well set-out and has everything you might need. The furnishings are comfortable and in very good condition. We had excellent weather during our stay and managed to sit out in the garden. This also gave us a chance to talk with the occassional passer-by, and walkers tackling Glyndwr's Way. The pub, which opens at 8:00p.m., Monday to Saturday, is a 30 seconds walk away from the house. The house is attached to a post office, operated by Karen, and opens two days a week. As you can see, this is a very rural retreat. It is, however, a short drive to local towns Rhayder, Builth Wells, etc, and lies in, and near, superb scenery, including the Elan Valley. There are also frequent sightings of Red Kites over the house. If you want somewhere to stay on this area you should consider Taylors Cottage as one of your options.
