Serenity Sunset is a single-storey lodge consisting of an open-plan living space with kitchen equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a coffee machine, a dining area with seating for six guests and a sitting area with Smart TV. The bedrooms consist of a king-size with en-suite shower room, a double and a twin, serviced by a bathroom. Outside there is an enclosed wraparound decking with furniture, as well as off-road parking for one car. Within 2.1 miles you will find a shop and within 1.9 miles, a pub and please note that one well-behaved dog is welcome but sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Serenity Sunset is a lovely base for your next getaway in Devon. Note: There are steps leading to the entrance of the property. On first glance the lodge was on par with other lodges we have stayed in. However after a few hours we noticed that all windows are nearly impossible to open. Only one of us could do it. This is a potential fire risk! The beds were hard and the pillows sub standard. It was hot in the night but couldn't open the bedroom window. It is advertised as a dog friendly lodge which is why we booked however when we got home they took an additional £30 off our payment card due to 'excess' dog hair ! We spent over two hours cleaning that lodge before we left including using their hoover to vacuum all carpets. We also stripped the beds for them and put laundry in the bathroom. We took pictures of the lodge before we left and we left it spotless. We told them this but Sykes have said we will have to use a small claims court to get our money back! Needless to say we would never book this lodge again or book through Sykes. We have been treated unfairly and unjustly. We paid nearly £600 for a weeks stay - appalling service.
