Location Details

A pretty little village, Rocester lies on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border, located on a triangle of land between the River Churnet and River Dove. The site of a Roman fort exists today and the village was also mentioned in the Domesday Book. Rocester is home to the famous JCB factory, and the company has landscaped the surrounding area to provide some wonderful walks with some interesting sculptures around the site and the nearby parkland. Most significant of these is The Fossor, which is made entirely of digger parts and is a powerful representation of JCB. Rocester is halfway along the Staffordshire Way which runs the length of Staffordshire and is also at the start of the Limestone Way which goes to Matlock. Close to Rocester is the lovely market town of Ashbourne, and just a short drive away is Alton Towers, with fun for all the family. Explore either the Staffordshire or Derbyshire part of the Peak District National Park with historic houses, market towns, moorland, rolling hills and valleys, all easily accessible from Rocester.

Reviews

The most perfect pods you could wish for! Peace and tranquility awaits at Yes Deer in a beautifully fitted pod of the highest standard. Every attention to detail has been noted with regards to cleanliness and ensuring you have everything you need. Jane is a lovely, friendly host, always nearby to help out if needed or simply just to chat and share local knowledge. The local area has something for everyone, whatever their interests. The hot tub was a great bonus for relaxing, easy to operate, heated quickly and completely private on your own patio. The local pub is within easy walking distance and served good food at very reasonable prices. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay, would highly recommend and will definitely return.

This place is just perfect! The last-minute getaway turned out to be one of the best stays we have ever had. Jane made sure we had everything we needed and all information to make the most of our stay. The pod was clean and had everything we needed. The bed wss the best we have slept in. (Including ours) All the finishing touches made it special. The hot tub was incredible! It really was a cut above the rest. We will most definitely be back for some R&R. A walk to the pub for food is a must. Food and staff were fantastic. If your feeling a bit peckish in the morning a drive to Denstone farm shop should be on your list. As well as the tasty treats to take back to the pod.
