Location Details

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Reviews

A super cottage so close to Haworth main street, cobbled and steep but so lovely with lots of cafes and individual shops, and the park nearby too, and all just a few minutes walk from the cottage. The cottage was absolutely spotless and comfortable, pretty much home from home. Huge bonus is off road parking in the area with its own driveway, use of a shed (for bikes) if needed and a lovely garden with chairs and tables to use. The weather didn’t allow this for us, but a lovely space without a doubt. We didn’t cook, but a fully fitted equipped kitchen to use. Lovely little touches inside made it feel very welcoming. We used the front box room with hangers and chair to store our stuff, which worked really well. Tea, coffee & biscuits were a nice touch. Would use again if in the area, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
