Royal Oak Farm Cottage, Betws-Y-Coed

Location is great for village and pubs, lovely walks around area. The cottage was excellant. We will visit again

Spent a very comfortable week in this lovely little cottage just a few minutes walk from the centre of Betws-y-coed. Scones and cream on arrival, along with all the necessary starter ingredients for the larder set the scene; subsequent exploration revealed every requirement for the household was ready to hand. Everything was as advertised and more. All-in-all a most enjoyable stay.

As this was our second stay at Royal Oak Farm Cottage, we knew it was going to be good and it was.

Beautiful surroundings, easy walk into village yet well tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Royal Oak Farm Cottage was clean and comfortable with friendly owners.

Great cottage in an excellent location. The owner was very welcoming and extremely helpful during a medical emergency. The cottage is central to everything but still in a beautiful secluded spot.

The cottage was very good value, and was perfectly adequate for 2. It had everything that was needed and the bed was comfy and the water hot. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked well. The cottage was very central and convenient for everywhere.

In a perfect location, tucked away yet just minutes walk from the centre of Betws-y-Coed. Loved the privacy and ambiance of the property and the accessibility to Snowdonia was so easy.

Such a wonderful cottage, with excellent facilities, in a superb location. Previous reviewers have said it all before but the location is perfect for a quiet and 'get away from it all' holiday yet a short walk into the village for great pubs, restaurants, coffee bars etc. Royal Oak Cottage provided us with an excellent base for exploring the beautiful area of Snowdonia. The property was presented well with 'extras'. The cream tea and bottle of 'New Year Bubbly' was a very kind and thoughtful touch from the owners. A comfy bed (always a tester when renting a holiday cottage!) with quality bedding and décor throughout. Overall one of the best rented properties we have stayed in. We will definitely return and shall thoroughly recommend this peace haven to others!

Excellent and in a quiet location. It had first class decoration and great hosts. There was fantastic wild life, it was great for country walks and had easy, private parking. All shops, railway, public transport, restaurants, bars and shops were 3 minutes walk away.

This small cottage is delightful. Excellently equipped. Well maintained. 3 minutes walk from all shops, bars, amenities, including public transport. The owners are most welcoming and efficient, nothing being too much trouble. An added bonus is private, secluded parking in a busy village. Easy connectable wi-fi. We cannot recommend this charming cottage highly enough.

A lovely, comfortable cottage in a tranquil location, but only 5 minutes walk from the village centre. There were plenty of walks to do straight from the cottage. Would definitely stay at this cottage again.

The cottage was a real little gem. Such a peaceful setting, and yet within a few minutes walk from the centre of Betws-y-Coed. A perfect spot for a relaxing break, and because of the location, equally suitable for those wanting a more strenuous holiday.

The cottage was the perfect size in the ideal location. It was equipped with everything you could possibly need and was spectacularly clean and tidy! Such a cosy little getaway, right next to a small town and not far from Snowdon, with walks nearby.

Amazing little cottage, wonderful position for buses, wonderful walking area and lovely shops to look round. Owners are very helpful and lovely cream tea on arrival.

We really enjoyed the privacy and the comfort of the cottage. It was clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen, and there were some lovely touches that I never expected in a self catering property, very thoughtful and welcoming.

The cottage was in a very quiet location yet central to Betws-y-Coed. It was in a good position to explore Snowdonia, Angelsey and the North Wales coast. The milk and cream teas provided on arrival were very welcoming.

We have stayed several times at Royal Oak Farm Cottage, it is just a short walk to the shops and restaurants though in a secluded position. The cottage is always clean with every home comfort provided.

A lovely cottage,close to shops and a pub,The Royal Oak. It is very central to enable trips to Caernarfon and Llandudno with ease.There is a lovely easy walk just outside the cottage,around the golf course making a nice morning walk before coffee and cake at the station restaurant.

The location is superb. My Wife and I were on a walking vacation, arrived via train, and depended on public transport to get to beginning of walks. This was the perfect spot for us to be located, just a few yards from the train station and bus stop.

Royal Oak Farm Cottage is all anyone could want in a vacation rental---clean, well furnished and maintained, convenient location. Wife & I stayed for two weeks and loved every minute. One of the walks leading to local scenic vistas ran past the front gate, others started only yards away. Restaurants and shops were within five minutes walk. Hosts were friendly but not at all intrusive. The train station is within 100 yards and the bus stop is adjacent to the train station. Village is busy during the day but very quiet at night so no problems with noise. We have rented vacation property from Hawaii to Europe and Royal Oak Farm Cottage is among the top five percent in quality and value.

The secluded position but close to shops and restaurants also plenty of lovely local walks.

We found the accommodation to be in a quiet location but with easily access to local shops. We were impressed with how well equipped and comfortable the cottage was. We certainly enjoyed the peace and the local area, and further afield, was beautiful. Very satisfied customers.

Excellent cottage, well maintained and exactly as advertised. The scones, tea, coffee and milk were a fantastic welcome that meant we could relax after our long journey before stocking the fridge. Brilliant location and good facilities.

The cottage was everything we required. We particularly liked its central and quiet position. In the evening we could walk to the shops and for our evening meal. Betws-y-Coed was in an ideal position for touring and it was complimented by perfect accommodation.

Our cottage had everything you could possibly want. It was well stocked and welcoming with a fantastic cream tea as we walked in the door. It was private and secure with excellent parking. The location was perfect and very beautiful.The local amenities were only a short walk away. we couldn't have asked for more.

This was first class. I was met with scones, cream and milk. The couple that run the cottage were so helpful, and it was right at the hub of all the goings on. It's five star.

We visit Betws almost every year and this is a fabulous cottage in a perfect location with plenty of safe car parking. I would highly recommend this property!

Delightful cottage, well equipped. The owners were available to give advice on where to go when needed. Location in Betwsy is perfect as you feel tucked away next to the river and down a private road but is a minutes walk to shops restuarants etc. Some delightful low level walks you can do from the cottage include the miners bridge, and fairy glen. Easy access to Snowdon for the more venturesome. Cant wait to go back.

Everything about the cottage was to our liking and more - quite, secure, peaceful, restful and very comfortable. We will be visiting again in the future!

We liked the location and being close to all amenities. The cottage was superb. The vicinity enabled us to leave the car and take walks. It was very relaxing and peaceful.

A sweet little cottage, perfect for just the two of us. We visit Betws y coed every year and have stayed in six different cottages with friend or family and this was in the best location yet.(and so private) It was clean,warm,cozy and had everything we needed. What more could you ask for! Oh, and cream tea on arrival was the iceing on the cake. Would highly recomend Royal Oak Farm Cottage.

This little cottage for 2 was perfect for our Xmas week of walking the hills and exploring the coast. It was very cosy, well heated, well appointed and quiet, yet located in the very middle of Betws y Coed. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and the welcoming 'pack' of wine and cake was delightful. Good parking, access to shops, restaurants etc made it a superb location. We actually ate in every night and found in the kitchen area everything we needed for cooking a Xmas meal! All in all, we could not fault it - and it was even very good value!

Set in a secluded courtyard right in the centre of Betwys Y Coed. Very quiet but with everything just a few minutes away.

The location was very good and we particularly like the welcome tray, as frequent Sykes Cottage visitors we found the cottage to be of the usual high standard. Thank you, we look forward to our next Sykes cottage break.

This idyllic property is nestled just off the main road of Betws y Coed. It is ideally located for local amenities of the picturesque town. More importantly for us though was the access to the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage is a clean and well equipped hideaway that is tastefully furnished in the style of the picturesque courtyard property it stands in. The service we received from the owners was helpful and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend a getaway to this property at any time of the year!

My wife and myself have sayed here several times and its just what we want. Close to the mountains and near the village. The people that run it are very friendly. I would recomend it to anyone.

The perfect location; being right in the centre of the village but still managing to be away from the hubbub of town. The perfect size of the cottage for a couple, the cleanliness and comfort of the furnishings, the electric blankets were very welcome! The village itself was beautiful and in such amazing surroundings with breathtaking scenery.

This was our second holiday at the cottage and it was as nice as we remembered. There are some nice walks around the town and not forgetting the wonderful scenery of Snowdonia close by.

This is one of the best we have found in North Wales for two people.

The cottage was located in an ideal spot to explore North Wales. There are walks around the town and all other attractions are within reasonable driving distance. This will make a great choice for summer breaks.

Betws-y-Coed is one of the nicest villages we've stayed in, ideal for exploring the area. Cottage was a nice location, very near to centre of the village yet also quiet.

This is a delightful little cottage, when there you could be in the middle of nowhere, with only the sounds of the river going by, but in fact it is only a very short walk to the very interesting town of Betws-y-Coed and all its facilities. This is our second visit, and we very much hope it is not the last.

The cottage and its contents / location were very good. The owners have set a very high standard with this property. We had everything necessary to look after ourselves provided. The welcoming tray that the owner left out for us was a great personal touch, from what we have read of this property it is something she does all the time. The owners were very friendly and approachable. It is well worth a stay there. We would & have recommend this property to others.

The cottage was superb. It was equipped with everything we needed for preparing meals in the evening, but just 5 minutes stroll to Betws-y-Coed main street to eat out if we wanted to. It was also an excellent location for exploring all the attractions of North Wales, not to mention the lovely waterfalls in Betws-y-Coed itself. We will certainly be passing the word around about this one!

We were made welcome by the owner with tea, jam, and scones. The cottage was very comfortable and in a quiet location. There is little we can add to the comments already made in the Visitors Book. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday.

An absolutely splendid cottage in an ideal setting. The owners hospitality was tremendous - leaving us scones and fresh cream for our arrival and a bottle of wine and chocolates for Christmas. We cannot recommend this cottage enough and have already booked to go back at Easter.

Very quiet, by a river and a pleasant riverside walk around the golf course and back to town. Parking is excellent. Owners very pleasant. Very close to information centre.

The location of the property was excellent, very central for everywhere we wanted to visit. I loved the fact that it was right in the heart of Betwys yet very peaceful too.

The location of the cottage was perfect, central but peaceful. The courtyard was a peaceful haven, for both the wildlife that abounds and for ourselves. The welcome cream tea was most thoughtful and the literature provided about the area was most useful. Sky television was an unexpected added extra - as was the wagtails nest just outside the door!
