Reviews

A fabulous period cottage in a stunning village. It is situated up a small lane behind Dunster church. The cottage itself is authentic, historic also very homely. This made it a pleasure to come home to each day and very easy to relax in. A few added touches in the welcome pack including local shortbread and tea/coffee made all the difference. The information within the welcome folder helped us massively in deciding what our day trips should include. Location wise it really is ideal. You are a 2 minute walk from the main street of Dunster which situates you perfectly for Dunster Castle, Yarn market, lovely shops and numerous hikes/trails. This charming place has stolen a piece of our hearts I would recommend it to anyone. When we do return to explore even more, we will most certainly be staying in Little dragons.

It was nice coming "home" from a day exploring the area: Selworthy / eating fish and chips at Porlock Weir / a train ride on a steam train from Minehead station. The cottage has everything you need to make you feel at home. Lovely big bedrooms, nice bathroom and a cosy living room with woodburner.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was well-located in middle of village and only a short walk from all amenities. The furniture was comfortable and everything was ideal.

This is a very well appointed cottage offering comfortable accommodation right in the middle of one of England's most unspoilt mediaeval villages. The bathroom is on the ground floor, along with lounge, kitchen and utility room; two double bedrooms upstairs. Fitted and furnished almost entirely by Next. I would definitely be happy to re-book.

A delightful little cottage beautifully refurbished, and occupying a prime location in the heart of one of the most unspoilt mediaeval villages in England. Would definitely book again.

Location, convenience, local places of interest, great walks, cosy cottage.

Rated by Mr Tribe reviewed on 28th March 2014

Delightful fully operational cottage. Warm and comfortable fitted out beautifully-no bathroom upstairs though. Loved the position behind the village of Dunster and easy walking of the shops, pubs etc We chose it for easy access to Exmoor by bike and on foot-realized too late(our fault) that there is no-where to store or wash the bike! oops, but it was really lovely there. Church bells take a while to get used to as they chime through the night.

The cottage was wonderfully warm and well placed in the town. Fantastic location for both walking and biking.

Rated by Mrs Marston reviewed on 6th January 2014

Little Dragons was excellent and very comfortable. It had everything we needed including a kitchen which had everything to cook a Christmas dinner with. Both my daughter and I slept brilliantly! The wood burner was fantastic. Dunster is a lovely quaint village which we both loved, and all the surrounding villages were both interesting and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone.

The cottage was beautiful with lots of little touches that made it even cosier. The location was perfect too being very central and meaning that we didn't need to drive.

Rated by Mr Gilbert reviewed on 5th November 2013

The cottage was extremely comfortable, furnished to a very high standard. Exactly what we expected from the description.

Rated by Mrs Rowe reviewed on 30th September 2013

We had never used Sykes Cottages before but we liked the look of the cottage and it lived up to all our expectations. The cottage was well equipped and there was nothing that we lacked. The only comment we made at the end of our stay was that there was a shortage of towels for 4 adults and although we could wash them and we did but drying space was lacking. That was the only complaint and didn't prevent us having a lovely holiday.

The cottage was immaculate, everything was so perfect! The location was ideal, with all of Dunster within easy walking distance, and a short drive to beaches and supermarkets. We had a great week, and would definitely stay here again.

Rated by Mrs Willcock reviewed on 8th August 2013

The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard. The equipment was higher quality than usually found in holiday rents. The cottage was very clean when we arrived with tea, coffee and biscuits on the table. The cottage had comfortable seating downstairs and the bedrooms were well fitted with clean colourful bed linen. The cottage was in the ideal place for great days out and excellent pubs for evening meals or you could have a romantic evening in with a bottle of wine. Local supermarkets Tesco or Morrisons only a short trip to get grocerys from. Cottage could be dangerous as you step straight out on the road which can get busy with cars. The church bells could keep you awake at night as the ring every 15 mins, then play a long tune. Hidden little gem that we would visit again.
