I don't think we could have chosen a nicer cottage. This was our sons first time abroad and as soon as he saw the beauty surrounding the cottage he was off taking pictures. if your looking for quaint and charming with every amenity your could want this is your cottage. All of us fell in love with Ginny, the owners Airedale Terrier. She came to the door for breakfast every morning and just added to the magical atmosphere. Had wonderful days out to Fountains Abbey and so many beauty spots in Yorkshire. I would highly recommend this cottage, it is the quintessential English dream cottage that most Americans dream of. Don't hesitate to book. We are just sad we did not get to know the owners better as they lived on the property,
A lovely setting, peaceful, and a cosy and comfortable cottage. A home from home that is ideally located.
An excellent cottage in a lovely location, with helpful friendly owners. There were lovely coastal views nearby.
Had a great time, it is in a great location in between Whitby and Scarborough and in a very peaceful setting. Couldn't have asked for a better cottage in terms of amenities, all the essentials were just there.
In stunning surroundings! It is not far from Scarborough or Whitby if you need anything, yet was isolated enough to have the peace and quiet for a relaxing holiday. An absolutely beautiful area to explore whichever direction you head in. A really cosy cottage on all fronts with the log burning fire being particularly comforting. The beds were clean, fresh and very comfortable. Really cannot say enough to compliment this beautiful cottage; I have already recommended it to two other parties who're looking at visiting the area. Had a fantastic holiday regardless of the very unpredictable weather.
A very pleasant cottage which was well equipped, very comfortable and in a peaceful location. Loved the wood burner. The owners were friendly and helpful. Overall a very good stay was had by all of us.
The property was top-notch. Our hosts have put a lot of thought, care and energy into it all, so that the cottage is everything and more than we could have expected for a relaxing week away in a home away from home. Our hosts really had thought of everything down to a ready-to-light fire, and hot water bottles. Everywhere was cosy, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was great to stay somewhere where the host has not compromised on décor, or furnishings etc. This was a first class break. Thanks.
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. I would definitely return. Lots of great walking and ideally located for Whitby and Robin Hoods bay. We saw lots of wildlife and loved the wood burner in the evening, very cosy.
A beautiful, well equipped, spotlessly clean and well furnished cottage. The best cottage we had ever been in. The owners are lovely people who made us very welcome. The scenery is outstanding & I would recommend it to anyone.
A lovely location with good access to great walking.
The cottage was beautifully appointed and in a superb location.
A lovely cottage, very warm and cosy. The perfect location for a nice relaxing break, the owners are lovely too. Will go back.
Liked how homely the cottage felt to us. We had a lovely time in fantastic accommodation and will definitely visit again in the future.
We had a fantastic stay, the owners were so accommodating and we will definitely be back to stay.
Amazing property, the owners made us so welcome even letting the kids groom and feed the horses. We will be back!
Very cosy, comfortable and well equipped cottage in lovely surroundings.
The cottage, surroundings and welcoming touches made the whole stay, from start to finish, relaxing especially in such a peaceful and beautiful environment. Exceeded expectations.
A very cosy Cottage, presented with lots of thought for details and was very tastefully fitted out.
Everything was FANTASTIC! Owners also very friendly and helpful.
Superb hospitality from the owners. Lovely setting, cosy and quiet.
The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful setting. Swallow cottage was lovely, very well equipped and very comfortable. It is in a beautiful setting in the countryside. When you had been out during the day it was great to return to the cottage and relax.
Swallow Cottage was a lovely comfortable place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The house and grounds are very well maintained, with nice little touches for visitors, like picnic tables around the grounds. I loved being near enough to see the sea from just up the drive from the house, and the countryside views are very attractive. The owners were friendly and obviously working hard to keep everything up to a high standard. I loved the peace and quiet and the ponies!
The whole stay was wonderful, I would live in the cottage as my everyday home and the owner could not be more helpful.
Clean, well equipped and comfortable throughout. The owners of this property have done all they can to make their guests stay the best it can be. One grouse that I did have.. and not the owners fault in the least.. was to find the previous user of the washer/dryer had washed their dog's blanket and/or towel in it. My clothes came out covered in short white dog hairs.. and I do mean 'covered'. Not best pleased with that and said so in the visitors book as a reminder to any future holiday makers who may be rather short on consideration and respect for others ! But apart from that Swallow Cottage is a lovely place to stay at.
The position has fantastic views and we enjoyed the owners attention to detail.
The accommodation was absolutely lovely, as good as it looks on the pictures. The owners were very helpful and recommended lots of places to try out. I would definitely go back.
The location and views from the cottage were superb.
Superb cottage, fantastic location, helpful friendly owners.
Well appointed and well laid out cottage. Very nicely decorated and homely, so relaxing. Perfectly positioned for North Yorkshire seaside towns and countryside. Friendly owners.
Beautiful location, stunning views, wonderful cottage, easy access to all beaches and countryside.
Swallow Cottage was set in a lovely garden with large grounds to explore and had a stunning view from the front. The location was excellent with lots to see and do around about. It was ideally situated for coast and countryside. Our children loved the cottage and garden and it was very safe. We could let them play in the garden with minimal supervision.
Beautiful cottage, we loved the surrounding. Nice to spend relaxing time at the cottage, but also very close to Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Filey. We all had a fantastic holiday. Yorkshire is Fantastic!
The cottage fulfilled our expectations.Peace and tranquility .All you required was there. We had 3 log fires whilst there.Owners were great.Biscuits and tea or coffee await you.The Bryerstone Inn down the road for good food.
The cottage was beautiful, a perfect location, we had a wonderful relaxing break.
We spent a wonderful quiet week at Swallow Cottage, with our two small dogs who were welcomed enthusiastically by the owners dog "Ginnie", We could not have asked for a more lovely place to stay, with the wood burner a treat on the cold evenings after our long walks along the Cleveland Way.
My husband and I and our 2 Border Collies have just had a fantastic long weekend in this delightful cottage. The location is ideal for local walks directly out from the cottage which take in old railway track sites, Cleveland way and beauiful beaches. Pippa, Graham and Ginny the dog make you feel very genuinely welcome to their property which is located just beside their own property. Everything that you could require is provided and the cottage oozes character. It is cosy but ample sized and very quickly feels like home. We appreciated the fresh flowers and the welcome tea tray complete with locally sourced ginger and choc chip biscuits! We will definitely be going back!
I loved the week we spent at Swallow Cottage. It was situated beautifully with wonderful views. Friendly and helpful owners and dog welcomed too. Relaxing getaway and I will recommend to friends and hope to return!
Lovely accommodation and stunning views. We were looking for 2 accommodations together to spend the New Year with friends, 4 kids and 2 cockapoos! It was perfect! Loved the cosy cottage and open fire in the evening. Great local dog friendly pub. Wish we could of stayed longer!
Pippa and Graham are two very nice, friendly people who will make you feel at home when you arrive at the holiday cottage on their farm. Private, very clean with all the comforts of home and scenery to die for, even when the weather is bad! We will be going back, as do so many.
Wow, what an absolutely beautiful cottage in a perfect location. The cottage was so cosy and quaint with beautiful furnishings and such attention to detail. The farm and it's land were beautiful, stunning views and perfect location for local attractions. The owners made us feel so welcome and their Airedale Terrier Ginny was the perfect playmate for our terrier Archie. The owner gave us vouchers for money off at the Sea Life Centre which saved us £15. The cottage was beautifully clean and very warm and cosy. They had provided a great travel cot and highchair for our baby daughter. When we arrived there was a pint of milk in the fridge and all tea and coffee making facilities ready for us with gorgeous locally made cookies, wonderful touch. Cannot fault Swallow Cottage one bit and can't wait to return.
Two friends and ourselves had a very pleasant stay in June, weather reasonably good considering this summer. Cottage was very clean with all the extras you could wish for. Owners very nice but did not see them after taking over the property as they were off on holiday the following day. Cottage handy for attractions and a nice place to return to at the end of the day.
Excellent location. The owners very friendly and helpful. Cottage spotless and very well equipped. Swallow Cottage sets the standard that all others should aspire too! We will be returning.
Its our second visit to Swallow Cottage, and was once again fantastic. We will definitely be back!
The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings and is very comfortable and well equipped. The children really enjoyed the freedom of being able to explore safely and the hosts made us feel very welcome. The cottage is also well placed for visiting Scarborough and Robin Hood's bay.
We liked being able to relax in and around the cottage. The owners always make us feel welcome and looked after. The location is excellent with fantastic views.
Great place and great location - wonderful views, and in the middle of the North York Moors. Owners really friendly.
From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed after a lovely warm welcome from Graham. The place was spotless! Best of all we could open the front door each morning to off-lead dog walks on Pippa and Graham's farmland. Beautiful sunrises will live long in the memory.
The cottage is in a great location between the sea and the North York Moors. It is ideal to suit either the land lover or the sea lover! It is a fantastic cottage in a peaceful location and the tourist resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, and Dalby Forest are only a stone's through away! We went for a relaxing weeks holiday for our anniversary and came back fully charged! Bliss!
Had a great time hosts were very kind and helpful cttage was very clean and had everthing we needed would recomend to any one will return again soon.
Very good hosts and peaceful place. Everything was clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble would like to go back one day.
We could not recommend this highly enough. The cottage, the surroundings, the location - you could not want for better. The owners made us feel very welcome, nothing too much trouble. This was our first visit to Swallow Cottage but we will certainly be back in the very near future.
My family all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swallow Cottage. The owners were very welcoming and only too happy to help with anything we needed. The cottage was a haven and is beautifully taken care of.
We stayed for weekend with our dog the owners were very helpful and made us feel welcome we will probaly return at some stage
The cottage was superb and the hosts were very helpful. we, and the dog, had a peaceful and relaxing weekend.
Great location. Excellent woodburner. Exceptionally clean and well equipped cottage but don't tell everybody! We would have been stuck without the quad bike luggage service with such deep snow!
We had a great weekend in a fabulous farmhouse. The owners made us all very welcome (including our dog, Jack). Thank you.
We've stayed at this cottage on three separate occasions and we return for the tranquility and high standards, which this cottage offers.
This was our second visit after an absence of 4 years and the condition of the property was still as good as we remembered it. The owners welcomed us well with a tray of tea and biscuits. They were friendly and there if you needed anything. The property location is ideal for exploring the area and not too far to walk to the Cloughton Station tea lounge! In my view this is a model holiday cottage.
Swallow Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the area. It is cosy, well appointed and very clean. The owners live close by & were extremely helpfull including tips on the best unknown beaches. We had the perfect relaxing holiday. Thankyou.
It was a cosy, well equipped, clean cottage, with plenty to see & do in the area.
The cottage and surrounding garden and fields were fantastic for walking and for the kids to explore. It was very relaxing with amazing views. We had very good weather all week which always makes a difference so we were on the beach every day. Very child friendly with loads for them to do.
We love to be near to the sea and the proximity of beaches was excellent. We have stayed here before and the cottage is fabulous, the owners friendly, and the garden with the swing great for children. We love this cottage and will book to stay again next year, it cannot be beaten, in our opinion.
Good walks on doorstep; Welland Way and Old Railway Line. Ideal for visiting Whitby and Scarborough. Kids will love the animals - 2 Highland cows, 2 ponies, a cat and Ginny the dog.
The location of the property was perfect for beaches, walking & cycling. We found the owners very friendly & helpful, with information on good beaches & other "local knowledge". The cottage could not be faulted. We would not hesitate in booking this property again & recommending it to others.
My friend, her dog and I have stayed at this cottage twice and we plan to return in the future. The cottage, the facilities, the garden and scenery on the doorstep are all that anyone could want. Highly recommended.
The accommodation was first class, the view from the front door was out of this world, and the owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
This was our second visit to this cottage. We know the facilities are excellent and we have a dog that has as good a time as us! The views from the cottage are perfect and there is plenty of garden space for residents of the two cottages to enjoy. There can't be any better place to stay for anyone visiting the East coast. The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful too.
The cottage was excellent and set in beautiful countryside with lots of nice walks and easy reach of Whitby and Scarborough. The owners were very nice and went out of their way to ensure that we I enjoyed our stay.
We had a great few days; the cottage was wonderful and the owners friendly.
The setting, the ambiance, the cosiness, and the friendliness of the proprietors made our stay so pleasurable.
Fantastic location within easy walks to the coast and a local pub. Welcoming and helpful owners who even towed the cars which were stuck in the snow. Log fires and a dishwasher - what more do you need?
We loved our stay at Swallow Cottage, the cottage was clean, modern and very welcoming. The log fire is fabulous it makes the cottage more homely. My 3yr old loved her time at Swallow Cottage mostly due to Tommy the horse! and the highland cattle. The location was brilliant as we were based centrally giving access to both Scarborough and Filey which we love for the the seaside aspect and also access to Robin Hood Bay which we could go rock pooling. The only downside was that we had 3 days of total fog but thats the weather for you! I would recommend Swallow cottage to our family and friends.
Great location, fabulous cottage with everything one could want. Owners very helpful. Log fire and dish washer.
The presentation, character and location of the cottage.
Swallow Cottage was first class! We were at home from the minute we walked in.
The children loved the farms horses. The cottage was lovely and was a pleasure to come home to each evening. There were a lot of special touches that were not expected, but were really enjoyed and appreciated. Overall we had a great holiday and the cottage and location were perfect.
The property, the owners and the surroundings were all fantastic. We enjoyed very much the open aspect of the property and the views were fantastic. The area has great beaches and lovely walks which we enjoyed very much.
The best cottage we have stayed in yet, with a warm and friendly welcome from the owners. Highly recommended. Best fish and chips in the Quayside Restaurant, Whitby.
Ideally positioned for both the Moors and the Coast. I thought the cottage we had last year was excellent but this one surpassed that.
Lovely cottage in peaceful surroundings with views to die for. Wonderful log fire and central heating. Friendly owners who are very helpful.A good range of public houses and resturants to cater for every need.
Excellent location with stunning views. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. The peace and quiet of the area. Relaxing atmosphere.

The scenery around the cottage was beautiful with views across countryside and coast. Many public footpaths within close vicinity of cottage. Excellent location for accessing lovely surrounding area, Whitby, Robin Hoods bay, moors etc.
First class accommodation – a beautifully renovated property. Excellent location close enough to local tourist spots but very secluded.
The position of the cottage was excellent. The scenery and the walking areas were brilliant.
The weekend away was a very welcome break. The cottage truly was a sanctuary from all the woes of real life! The cottage was absolutely lovely, with the real wood fire an added bonus. It is set in beautiful scenery and the owners of the cottage were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit again.
We enjoyed every part of our holiday.......not one single thing to grumble about...

Very relaxing place to stay - this is the 4th time we have stayed in this property. Great location, the owners are friendly hosts and always helpful. Our 2 year old loved the sheep, long-horned cows, and feeding many carrots to Wendy and other ponies. This was our 5th visit to the cottage. We love the surroundings and the serenity of the area.
We both found Swallow Cottage a lovely restful location in a beautiful setting. Although Staintondale is a small village we found it central for many local attractions and places of interest and found plenty of nice pubs in the area to eat out in. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the welcoming tea and biscuits went down very well after a long trip.
Lovely for children.
The setting of the cottage was amazing and the general cleanliness and condition were excellent. It was a perfect place to escape and unwind.
From the moment we arrived it was perfect, the cottage, its surroundings, the welcoming of the hosts. It took our breath away. We felt like part of the family not strangers & the cottage was spotless, beautifully furnished, comfortable, equipped with everything & more than you need great thought & care to every detail by our hosts even a welcome tray of tea coffee milk & biscuits.

The location and views were fantastic. The owners made us very welcome and were helpful and informative.
The setting was fantastic and the cottage better than we could ever have imagined. It was a perfect relaxing hideaway with wonderful walks for all ages. The grading was too low! We will definitely be returning.
The location of the cottage was absolutley spectacular! Waking up in the morning, opening the curtains and seeing that view was a dream come true. The perfect place to relax and get away from it all. The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Friendly hosts, very clean cottage, kitchen well enough equipped to cook a great Christmas dinner, and we have been provided with a proper Christmas tree! Lovely view and quiet area, great area for walking and fossil hunting, we even saw seals.
We found the owners very helpful. It seemed that we had the whole of the farm to ourselves, as they were not "in your face".
We cannot recommend this cottage, or it's location highly enough. Very comfortable to come back to after a hard day's walking with the dog!

The cottage was like a home from home, a great place to come back to after a day's exploring. There was just everything you needed, but know you would have forgotten yourself. The welcome was great and the tea and biscuits waiting for us when we arrived was a brilliant touch. A great location for Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, the North York Moors Railway and just ambling about.
