Granary Cottage, Staintondale

Location is superb, we have been through this area many times but never stopped off, so this time decided on this cottage and location. Cottage has all that you need by way of cooking essentials etc, it is a lovely cottage, very comfy and so warming. Ideal for some great walks, lovely scenery and great nearby pubs for great food and drinks. Definitely would recommend and a big thank you to Cara,.

Would definitely recommend this cottage .You can see the sea from the courtyard and the lovely surrounding countryside. Chocolates were left for us in the property on our arrival which we all thought was a lovely touch .The cottage was spotlessly clean and very welcoming .The only minor niggle was that the blackout blind was not very effective in the single bedroom .Overall, we were very happy with the accommodation.

It was convenient for lots of places, and was quiet and peaceful but not too isolated. It was very comfortable and we were very lucky with the weather.

It was a very cosy and warm barn conversion. Ideally situated for visiting the North York moors as well as Scarborough and Whitby.

A fabulous, extremely clean, quiet, cosy cottage in a wonderful location. Having visited the area many times this was possibly the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

We had a wonderful time in North Yorkshire. The Cottage was everything we hoped for. The owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome would certainly go back.

Although the weather was not great, the cottage was so warm and cosy to return to at the end of the day and was decorated to a very high standard. The owners were friendly and helpful and all in all, it has been the best pet-friendly cottage we have stayed in and we will definitely be re-booking in the future.

A lovely area with plenty of places to visit close by. The Cottage is to a high standard with very good use of the available space. We especially liked the bathroom and kitchen. The Cottage was easy to find from the directions given with excellent parking.

The actual cottage was lovely.Clean and comfortable.The location was a little remote but in easy drive to Whitby and Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay.I would recommend it.So much to see in this area.

This was a relaxing surrounding with everything to enjoy a home from home experience. It was a nice welcoming touch to have chocolate left for our arrival.

From beginning to end a most perfect holiday break. The owners and Abbi the dog were very helpful and friendly. The cottage was immaculate. We have had other breaks around the British Isles, none have been anywhere as good as the service we received from Sykes cottages and the owners many thanks for your help. We will be back to stay soon

Granary Cottage is of a high standard and extremely comfortable. It has all the facilities you would need, and more for a holiday. There was a great choice of nearby pubs, and it is ideally situated for visiting the beautiful beaches of North Yorkshire.

A good area to stay. The cottage was very good, close to Whitby and Scarborough. Handy for the moors and Heartbeat country. Will make a revisit.

The accommodation was of a good standard with attention to detail. It was clean and comfortable. The owners had gone to the trouble of decorating a Christmas tree and leaving a box of chocolates - nice touch for Christmas. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. The whole experience was as a break away from home should be.

The owner was welcoming and showed us all the cottage and told us stuff we needed to know. The cottage was great had everything that a home could want.It was very clean and maintained to a high standard. The main bed was very comfortable indeed. Situated in the middle of the countryside the walks around the area was great and the bus routes are handy to for robin hoods bay ect. I can honestly say i very much enjoyed my stay.

Plenty of places to visit and a good selection of restaurants in the area. All very easy to find due to the comprehensive information pack in the cottage.

It's situation to Whitby and Scarborough. It was so peaceful and the owners were very friendly and I'm sure if we had needed them they would have helped us.

We liked the location a great deal. The accommodation was great for 2 adults and a dog. It was a peaceful location to be and within easy reach of the coast with great walks.

The cottage was nicely decorated to a contemporary standard. The pink information file was very useful, and the kitchen was fully stocked.

Peaceful, picturesque and isolated setting but not too isolated! Clean, excellent modern bathroom with plenty of hot water and a well equipped kitchen.

Had a fabulous stay in this lovely cottage in March 2012. The weather was sunny and warm and we had some fabulous walks both on the beach, the pennine way and the surrounding countryside. The cottage and all its facilites are excellent and the enclosed back garden was a real plus and brilliant for our dog. The cottage is situated in a lovely position with some great walks around the area and some lovely dog friendly pubs. The only addition I would recommend to the owners of the cottage is a large rug in the lounge area as the floor was freezing even when the heating was on. Would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to return again.

The cottage was just what we needed, away from it all, comfortable, clean, warm and with everything needed on hand. Friendly helpful owners. We would definitely return. A great holiday and we would love to visit in the summer.

The owners were very friendly , gave a warm welcome. The house was like home from home it had everything we needed. There was plently to do in the area and in the surrounding areas. All the facilities we needed amd more. The whole of the holiday was fantastic not even the weather could put you off doing anything. We will definatly be back.

The location and the peace and quiet. The information pack was really informative and we used it a lot, the owners of the property were friendly, and left us to it. A bottle of wine as a welcome gift was a nice touch. The owners have provided high spec equipment and fittings to the property, it was also nice to go into the cottage when it felt so immaculately clean.

We loved everything about this cottage, it was beautiful and really well equipped! The owners were lovely and really helpful. The surrounding countryside was very picturesque and there was lots to see and do! Can't wait to return next year!

The area is delightful and the cottage is well situated. The owners were very welcoming. We enjoyed the walks that we found and Robin Hood's Bay was magical as was Whitby. The rear yard was enclosed and secure for the dogs.

Granary Cottage is beautifully fitted out. We had a real Christmas tree in the lounge & the owners even left us a box of chocolates! The cottage was well equipped with every possible item you could need. The cottage was warm & cosy & very homely. An ideal location for exploring the coast. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog.

Friendly welcome, easy parking and secure garden for our small dog made this a great place for our week's stay in the North Yorks Moors and Coast area. Accommodation is fairly compact but suited our needs well. There is a pub that serves great food within 0.5m of the property and some lovely walks close by - along the cost from Ravenscar towards the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay.

VERY COMFORTABLE COTTAGE. ALTHOUGH WEATHER WAS NOT GOOD WE ENJOYED OUR STAY. ONLY SHORT DRIVE FROM WHITBY OR SCARBOROUGH.LOVELY VIEWS, LOCALS VERY FRIENDLY GREAT PUB SERVES FOOD 5MINS DRIVE.

Location was quiet and perfect for walks as well as travelling to nearby places of interest. The owners were very welcoming.

The information pack was brilliant, providing excellent directions to local places which we'd probably not know about otherwise. Both the Bryherstones and Oak Wheel local pubs were very friendly, welcoming to dogs (in the bar and garden respectively) and served delicious food.

The cottage was decorated and furnished to a high standard, excellent garden for children and pets. Within easy reach of surrounding towns and also there were many good hotels in Vicinity to eat out. We had an excellent holiday!
