Reviews

A comfortable and spacious house in a peaceful countryside location - beautiful views all around, and just so green. Very quiet - no traffic noise or farm machinery. A hot tub down the garden - screened by trees, with a view across the valley - what more could you want?(except I didn't manage to train the kids to bring me a glass of wine down there....) The house is well equipped. The kitchen has a vast array of crockery, glasses, pans, cutlery. There are 2 sinks, a big fridge freezer, a big gas/electric cooker, dishwasher and a washing machine. It was an easy place to have several of us cooking together. There are 2 showers but the one upstairs only fits people under 5 foot 4 - this meant I got my own personal shower as the smallest in the family. The one downstairs had a roomy shower cubicle. Outside there is a big lawn, barbecue and lots of space. The driveway is gated and the only property nearby is a well camouflaged forest lodge near the driveway. In terms of access - Oban was about 15-20 mins away depending on traffic, and the Tesco/M+S/Aldi are on the way in to town. There are plenty of places to eat and lots of things to do in the area - we easily filled a week with activities.

We stayed here for a week from 13th October. I wanted somewhere really special to stay for my husbands 40th birthday and Glen Euchar House did not disappoint. The house is beautiful, so comfortable and cosy. It’s clearly very well looked after as are the grounds. The grounds are beautiful. Gordon the caretaker greeted us on our arrival and showed us around. Although he was at the property every day we barely noticed him and it didn’t impact on our visit at all. He clearly works very hard and appears to have a genuine affection for the place. The hot tub was fab, secluded and with stunning views. We spent a lot of time in it!! The bed was huge and so comfortable, we slept really well all week. There are lots of really nice touches throughout the house, my husband loved having the full sky package and I loved the range cooker and the Rayburn. An extremely well stocked kitchen with everything provided that you could possibly need. All in all we had such a great time, it really felt like a home from home and we were really sad to leave. But we will be back. Thank you to Gordon for all his hard work and his warm welcome and his lovely cheery greeting whenever we saw him.

The photos on the site does not do this place justice it is secluded in 8acres of land with absolutely we'll maintained grounds has soon has you drive in over a fast flowing stream down a beautiful drive way that opens up is WOW,there is a log cabin that can be booked with this house to accommodate extra people but it is well hidden and they can not use your facilitys,it is spotlessly clean with good decor 4bedrooms with one with the largest beds we have been in,the kitchen has everything that you could think of with a big Rayburn stove it has full sky package with good wifi but a poor phone signal that can soon be rendered by going to the main road the hot tub is fantastic for later on perched in an isolated spot surrounded by tress over looking the stream with a music system behind you with a barbecue area ,about 20 minutes drive away is Oban we did island tours to mull Staffa Iona rib boat rides from easdale 10 minutes away,if you like sea food you have to go to the shack on the pier at Oban no frills but the best you could possibly taste.

This property is by far the best place I have ever visited in my life... It's your dream home and you could literally be anywhere in the world.. The house and grounds are amazing. The kids loved the river at the bottom of the garden and the hot tub was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the caretaker. Situated great for Oban and Mull. A visit to the Oban distillery and Chocolate shop are a must, as is the little hut that sells mussels in white wine near the ferry. We will definitely return to Glen Euchar, the pictures do not do this property or grounds justice..

We loved the well looked after gardens. There was a lot of outdoor seating areas, which was great. The house is spectacular and well kitted out. The hot tub was a lovely addition and a great way to relax in the evenings. Everything was spotless. Glen Euchar House is the perfect place to stay and explore the beautiful area. We would definitely return.

Rated by Miss Beresford reviewed on 15th May 2016

The house is beautifully decorated and furnished. It had everything we needed and more by way of cooking equipment, entertainment and things to see and do. We could have very easily not left the grounds all week and still have plenty to do. Everything had been considered. The grounds are stunning and very well kept, bird feeders are a nice touch, we found it very relaxing to just sit and watch the different kinds of bird come and go. The caretaker, is such a lovely chap, very helpful and welcoming. The house was absolutely immaculate!

This is one of those rare finds that exceeds all expectations. Lovely large rooms, very homely and the photos just don't the house justice. Downstairs: Kitchen: massive, and you'll want for nothing. Fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, range cooker, and every piece of kitchen equipment and utensil known to man! Think it had 3 slow cookers of different sizes too. Dining room: lovely spacious room with splendid extendible table, and a telescope to enjoy the outside world. Hallway: plenty of room to get in and out, lots of storage room and cupboards full of games. Downstairs shower room: toilet, sink and large shower, looks brand new. Lounge: enormous with reclining sofas and chairs, wood burner, massive tv, sky box, wifi, wii, and Blu-ray and a good range of DVDs, books and magazines. Downstairs bedroom: single bed, desk, massive bookshelf. Upstairs: Bathroom: glorious bathroom, bath, separate shower, very nice room. Master bedroom: super sized spacious room, biggest bed I've ever seen. Plenty of draws and wardrobe space. Double bedroom: good size, and and again lots of storage. Single room: single bed, bedside table and small chest of drawers. The whole house is modern and contemporary, very clean and modern. Bedding, towels, robes, and household products all plentiful. The grounds are fantastic, the hot tub amazing and it has a nearby CD player, so grab your favourite music and crank it up and you relax. It's 8 miles from Oban, took about 20 minutes to drive, great for Fort William, Glencoe, and surrounding areas; would definitely stay again, without hesitation. Owner/Manager (Gordon) top bloke who was a great invisible but reassuring presence.

A lovely and well-stocked house with a lot of small touches that made it feel like home. We loved the grounds and the hot tub and the house. The kitchen is wonderful and the wood-burning stove kept things cozy in the evenings. Gordon was such a nice caretaker and gave us some tips about exploring the area. If you are searching for a luxury house with lovely surroundings and a hot tub, then you've found it! I searched many sites for hours and hours and came back to this every time and I'm so glad I did. The house was simply stunning, the best we have ever been to and the gardens were beautiful. The hot tub was a great touch and the property was in a great location for touring the local area.

Rated by Mrs Parker reviewed on 8th June 2015

I just stayed at Glen Euchar House last week with my partner and friends. The views are amazing, the hot tub was great and lookily for us the weather was fantastic. When we arrived on the Saturday the groundsman showed us round and told us if we needed anything, or had any problems he would be out and about throughout the days. The first shower my friends had in the downstairs bathroom was freezing cold, we couldn't seem to get it to work. Myself and my partner were using the shower upstairs (beware if you're tall, it's on a slope and you have to duck to get your head under) and this was luke warm at best but a bit better than freezing. My partner called the groundsman on the Sunday but we couldn't get hold of him, so left a message - we heard nothing back. We then left another message on the Tues and still heard nothing and we hadn't seen him once since we had arrived. We then finally caught up with him on Thurs, to which he told us a plumber had been called but couldn't make it until the Saturday, which was no good to us as we were going home. The bathrooms were also not the cleanest, on our second day there I bought bathroom wipes from the supermarket and gave the sink and toilet a good wipe (hence sack the cleaner). It didn't look like it had been cleaned in the last year never mind from the last stay. Although this review isn't the most positive, we just had a few issues but all in all the holiday was good. I would recommend this place for the hot tub alone and as I said earlier the views were amazing and you have great privacy. I would take your own BBQ if you wanted, as the one there looks a bit ancient and unclean. It was definitely good to get home to a nice hot shower

Glen Euchars is a wonderful house. Everything you could ever need is there. We didn't want to leave. The hot tub is heavenly especially in the evening watching the stars above. We stay in Scotland at least twice a year and this is the best place we have ever been to. Don't tell everyone though as we want to come back next year!!

We had an excellent week, albeit with variable weather, will be returning and will definitely recommend to friends and family. Glen Euchar is without doubt one of the finest and best equipped holiday 'cottages' we have stayed at and am already looking forward to our next visit. The area has a lot to offer and Oban is but a short drive away with a good selection of restaurants, supermarkets and shops - the Green Shack in particular.

I stayed here in August with my wife and 3 teenage children. The house is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Its quite a large home but still feels very homely. The house stands in a large plot of land surrounded by countryside and lots of wildlife such as deer walking past and eagles above,a nature lovers paradise. The house as the added touch of a hot tub which was nice to relax in on an evening but take some midge spray as they like to gather. We hired bikes off the manager/caretaker for a day and they also hire out kayaks if you so desire. The caretaker lives within the grounds and is very very helpful and friendly. We spent our days exploring the attractions in the area and found the house which is about 10 miles from Oban to be ideally placed. The only thing that slightly spoiled the holiday was the weather but that's Scotland. For the price paid for a week in August you would be hard pushed to find anywhere near as good. I would recommend this holiday home to anyone and would certainly re book this home if we were to return to the area.

A superb property in all but one area, the charcoal BBQ's were very large & not very well maintained. A more modern gas BBQ. would be ideal. This is only a minor issue as everything else about the house & the grounds is fantastic. We would definitely return. The setting is magical & private. The hot tub is massive, we only used one side of it. Can't recommend it highly enough. The person who looks after it & holds the key, lives nearby & is on hand if required, he is very helpful, discreet & unobtrusive.

A wonderful location in a quiet and peaceful glen surrounded by natural beauty and yet still close to the main road to Oban. The property is large and airy with all of the modern equipment (large TV; BluRay; Wii; WiFi) that you could want. Large rooms throughout. Would suggest that the owners need to remove a lot of their own effects from the kitchen as there is no cupboard space left for your groceries; also a microwave would be a good addition. The huge grounds are beautiful and the hot-tub an added bonus. Mike, the property manager who lives in a separate property on site, is a friendly and welcoming man who is almost invisible unless you want his assistance when he's only too happy to help. He is a great addition to the set-up here. The surrounding countryside is just stunning and the location gives great access to all local activities; the boat trips with Sea.Fari are especially good. Overall this is an excellent place to stay, if you can't relax here then you can't relax!
