From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Maybe not the best situated though not badly situated .. there’s more than Ben Nevis in the area.. And maybe, at first glance not the most aesthetically pleasing either … But again it has its own unpretentious charm which I sort of associate with my few visits to Scotland.. But it’s sort of unique in my own mind .. The owners are cool, just ask if you want anything, leave you alone if you don’t… They’re friendly enough without being overbearing.. But from a personal perspective it’s one of the few places I’ve been in my life and felt that sort of calmness where you’re completely blank in thought through lack of stress.. I’ve been wild camping on many occasions throughout my life and have felt that peace in isolation but never in a populated place.. Would definitely stay there again if it didn’t take 10+ hours to drive.. All the best to the owners..
Due to an unforseen event we weren't able to stay at Glen Dessary on our start date. Jennifer Campbell made every effort to find a replacement for us until we could move in. Whilst walking up Ben Nevis on the Saturday I even had a text message asking if we were OK? I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a stay in the area not too far away from First William itself but a nice setting.
Had a great holiday - location and people were lovely.
An ideal place that is very central for visiting other locations. A very quiet and peaceful location with a lovely view from the chalet.
Great accommodation. Nice people. Very peaceful.
Excellent comfortable chalet in the heart of the most breathtaking mountains in Britain. Great amenities and security.
The location was excellent. It was very quiet, we enjoyed watching the animals on the site and there were views of the mountains. We were able to walk to several interesting local places. Our host was helpful and friendly. The property contained everything we needed.
Felt right at home in chalet, very friendly and kind owners.
Really friendly clean with every thing required within log cabin.central to all things off interest . With Fort william closs bye for eating out etc. Really enjoyed our time there.
Good friendly people in a relaxed and happy environment. Central area for trips and commutes, loved it.
Beautiful setting with chickens, ducks and geese to greet you and freshly laid eggs in the mornings were delightful. The owners of the property were extremily helpful and catered our medical needs, taking delivery and storing some medial equipment prior to our arrival. The location of the property is excellent for exploring the west highlands and the islands.
Nice and friendly host family, very helpful.
The scenery was wonderful and there were so many lovely places to go, the people were lovely too.
The Chalet was excellent, far better than we expected for the price and it had everything we needed. The location was also perfect, quiet enough to relax but close enough to Fort William to do your shopping or go for a meal.
A great location with brilliant views.

Very quiet location but good base for visiting the surrounding countryside.
Cosy cottage, very quiet, and in a good location. Clean, well insulated, easy to heat up. Pleasant lounge and open space, lots of light. Friendly owners.
The location is awesome, at the foot of ben nevis. the gym membership is a welcome addition, especially if you climb the hill. remote, in a good way. Not for Dog or animal lovers tho. (I'm a fan of dogs!)
The chalet was on a small secure site with friendly helpful owners also on site. Great base for exploring the best landscapes in the UK.
Peaceful, great surroundings, hospitality exceptional, adequate parking.
It was out of season but was treated well the cabin was clean and homely, the people were very friendly and helpful in any concerns will not hesitate to go back there again
The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful and made us feel very much at home. The chalet was comfortable with a good range of equipment. The only real complaint was a slight lack of storage space for luggage. Location was good as there were shops and restaurants within easy reach for everyday shopping and meals out in the evening. All in all we had a very enjoyable week.
The cottage was in a good location and good value.
An excellent property in an excellent location!
We had Ben Nevis across the road. Very quiet. All you could want. The people who looked after us were very nice. We will be back for more with you - well done.
Scotland at its very best - right outside the door. I only booked for a week, I should have stayed at least two weeks longer.
We enjoyed the animals and birds in the gardens and surrounding areas.
The area was nice, the owners were very helpful and on hand if needed, the atmosphere was friendly. It was quiet and we had plenty of freedom.
The location and area was superb, lots to do and see, did hill walking, fishing, exploring and enjoyed the Scottish hospitality. The property owners were excellent and weather was fantastic, would like to go back.
We received a very warm welcome from the owner who was very helpful throughout our stay.
The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful scenery and never more than 20 minutes (or less) to tourist attractions such as the Ben Nevis range, national park walks and town centre being Fort William.
Very quiet and peaceful.
