A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
NO WIFI, VERY POOR MOBILE SIGNAL , you dont realise how dependent we have become on a reliable Internet connection. Also one of the smallest tv's I've encountered in a long time, with only freeview channels available! If you want to get away from the rat race this place is for you! Not suitable if you have tech hungry kids or which to still be in contact with the outside world. If however you wish solitude and quiet this is the place for you.
We loved this holiday. The owners were helpful. We thought it was really peaceful and quiet. The garden was lovely to sit out in. We would defiantly go back. We loved it.
The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant location to explore. We had a great time.
The garden and outside areas were excellent at The Stable, especially with 3 young children! The owner was also very friendly and approachable. Great location of cottage for exploring this area of Shropshire.
The space both inside and out was perfect for the 3 small children. It felt very homely and clean. We travelled a long way for just the 3 nights of the bank holiday weekend and it was well worth it.
We loved everything. The owners were lovely people which made the holiday complete, everything was as advertised and more. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
The cottage was very spacious and comfortable and had everything we required and more! The area is beautiful with walks from the farm making it ideal. The surrounding areas including The Long Mynd, Wenlock Edge and Clee Hill are outstanding, with plenty of opportunities for walking and sightseeing.
We will return soon, everything was wonderful.
An ideal property to relax in or explore the beautiful area.
This was our second visit this year. Says it all!
Beautiful cottage in an ideal location for visiting south Shropshire, with friendly owners. Enjoyable visit.
The cottage was well equipped and had the added bonus of an enclosed garden. There were plenty of walks from the doorstep and the scenery was fantastic. The owner was very accommodating without being intrusive.
It was our first visit to the area and the cottage was an ideal base from which to explore. The cottage ticked all the boxes. The farmer was very friendly and helpful, and there were walks from the kitchen door. Would stay here again.
Very friendly host and you can go to the barn and see the lambs, nothing was too much trouble. This was our 2nd time at the cottage and it was perfect again.
Good location. Easy road access whilst access to walks straight from the farm very good.
The property was centrally located to many local tourist attractions/walks. It was well appointed and a relaxing space to spend days and evenings after excursions.
The location of The Stable was superb and offered us exactly what we wanted. It was one of the best self-catering cottages we have stayed in.
The stable was a lovely place to stay with very friendly owners. It is quite a rural place so as long as you are prepared to travel it is a good base. Lots of good attractions round about. Lovely relaxing surroundings and nice walks through the fields!
Lovely peaceful cottage on a farm with lots of lambs, would take our dog next time.
Warm and friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent walks at the back of the farm, all the walks were recommended by the owners.
Very comfortable and very warm, the enclosed garden was excellent for the dog.
A first class, luxurious property in a fabulous location. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break for everyone.
Beautiful cottage, and a great fully enclosed garden! Which made for a relaxing break.
The cottage was perfect in a lovely location with lots to do and see.
Represented great value for money and provided exactly what we needed with two dogs. It was very well placed for getting out to the classic Shropshire walks and also had nice walks direct from the property. We found it very peaceful and extremely comfortable. We would recommend it very highly!
Good location and easy to get to. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Spacious and comfortable.
Very spacious accommodation, particularly the large and well equipped kitchen. The enclosed and secure garden was also a boon for our dog.
A friendly welcome, cottage was just as described and was great to find somewhere which accepts 2 dogs. Perfect for walking holidays, with at least three well-mapped walks right on the doorstep.
Good location. Friendly and helpful owner. Private and secure garden. Shops nearby.
The cottage was ideal for us. The dogs were safe, we were near suitable walks and the whole experience was very good. We shall return again if we can. People were helpful with walks which was wonderful as it is situated on farmland and I needed the dogs to be safe for the farm animals.
