We stayed at Damson Croft for the second time, and it won't be the last. It's a super cottage in a beautiful garden. So peaceful and quiet. Very relaxing and well equipped. We really did not want to leave after the best two weeks we've ever had in a cottage. The area is a ramblers heaven, straight from the door. We really should be keeping it a secret so it doesn't get booked up for when we want to go again, but it deserves five stars ***** You will not be disappointed with this place.
The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The garden is very beautiful, full of interest and it was just lovely to wake up to that incredible view every morning. The cottage is comfortable and spacious. The location provides the perfect base for exploring the surrounding moors and woods as well as for trips to the coast. We ate at the local pub in Lastingham one night. The food there was really good and the staff were very accommodating to our two year old.
Set in a beautiful village this last minute booking over Easter was much better than we had hoped for. Excellent hosts and perfect surroundings for a very relaxing weekend break.
A warm welcome from the owners. Lovely furnishings and very well equipped. The cottage was set in beautiful, well kept gardens with bee hives, frequent visits from a family of pheasants and abundant bird life. The situation of this cottage is ideal for walkers as there are numerous moorland walks right from the doorstep. Once we had arrived we didn't really have to use the car.
The cottage was in a very pleasant, quiet location which we appreciated. The host was friendly but did not intrude on our privacy.
Lovely setting, quiet location and the garden area to sit in was very much appreciated.
Very well equipped cosy cottage, in a beautiful location. Fabulous holiday.
The marvellous garden and the absolute peace and quiet. A good starting point to explore and visit the Moors.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Damson Croft; the surroundings were so peaceful and it was a very relaxing retreat with our two teenage boys. The grounds are lovely and, even though some of the days we stayed were quite wet, it was super to go out exploring and return to the warm environment of the cottage which is very well equipped - a real home from home! The absence of shower, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer didn't phase us - it was actually quite refreshing to wash up and to not have to think about laundry - after all, we were on holiday! The nearby towns have a wealth of high quality restaurants and facilities and we were certainly never stuck for something to do. We definitely plan to stay there again, so that is a testament to how great the place is...
A super cottage with excellent facilities in a beautiful setting. The owners who are on site, are very helpful, friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble.
