This is our second visit here. Again, wonderful cottage with amazing hosts. Joy and Rod can't do enough for you. The cottage is clean and tidy. Well stocked for anything you want to cook. We will be coming back. If you like home comforts such as hairdryer, coffee filter, cafeteria then this is all covered here. Please note: When you go out, you will need cash to pay for parking. Whereas we are use to paying on apps etc. Was a bit of a shock when we got somewhere and had no cash on us.

Stayed here for my husbands 60th birthday All I can say is excellent in every way. Joy and Roy were so welcoming and pleasant. They even decorated the house and baked him a birthday cake. Hot tub was excellent. Fab place for dogs. Would definitely recommend this place and certainly will be returning

We stayed here for a long weekend. Had an amazing time. The cottage is stunning and has everything you can think off. You literally just turn up with clothes and food. Everything else is there including robes, bath towels, tea towels and all the clean equipment. My little boy loved the games, jigsaw puzzles and colouring. We have already booked for our summer holiday next year.

My father, husband and I have just come back from a wonderful week staying in this barn conversion on a working farm and none of us wanted to leave I can tell you. Joy & Rod are both such lovely, friendly and kind people and honestly cannot do enough for you. The accommodation is so well equipped, that you need not take much with you at all which is brilliant. The beds are extremely comfortable and the whole layout of the place is spacious and so clean. We walked in and were shown around by Joy, who made sure we knew exactly where everything was and how it worked. The welcome goodybag was such a lovely touch and a really nice start to our first evening there. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh chicken eggs from their chickens with our morning breakfasts and evening omelettes. We were also privileged enough to try some duck eggs as well, which were just as lovely. Rod kindly introduced us to his animals, as I asked, which was one big plus of staying on a farm, We saw the baby calves and lambs as well as the ducks, chickens and friendly farm cats, which will welcome you at the back door each morning. Having the hot tub was so nice after you had been out for a day trip or a long walk. We would just sit back and relax our muscles which was a lovely end to each day. The underfloor heating that warms the whole place is really good, we were warm and snug the whole week we there and it was lovely under foot too. There are so many things about this property which are lovely, the quality of furniture, extremely well equipped kitchen and attention to detail right through is brilliant. There are many places to see around the area but I would recommend:- -Sculptureheaven, a really lovely little place to visit and their cakes and cordials are wonderful. -Cenarth falls just round the corner, you can enjoy a lunch & drink in the pub opposite or a nice ice cream from the little gift shop, while taking a walk down the side of the river listening to the water rumbling over the stones. -Cardigan coastal farm park is a great place to visit if you have children to see the farm animals but even for us, just to enjoy the coastal walk above and watch the Seals bobbing their heads up above the water and if you are lucky, a dolphin too. -Visit Caws Cenarth cheese farm and watch through windows into the factory as they make the cheese, separating the curds and whey and then by hand, putting the curds into the cheese moulds. Then walk across to the shop for some tastings, you can't help come away with bags of cheese, it's lovely. -The National Wool Museum just around the corner is quite interesting as well and worth a visit. We also visited a Goldmine, a Waterfall and a Coal mine, which were further afield but all really good too.

Just had our second holiday in this delightful luxury cottage. Still a perfect escape from the real world with internet just incase you need to keep in contact. Sitting in the hot tub whilst it was snowing was a great experience. clean and very well maintained this cottage is warm and you don't really need the fire but for effect. Thank you Joy and Rod for creating this great cottage.

Myself and my partner Caroline stayed here for a week in November. Both Rod and Joy made us welcome from the start. The accommodation was superb clean and woderfully decorated. Although on a working farm that did not disturb the peace and relaxation we enjoyed whilst we were there. Even though we had to cut short our holiday due to unforseen circumstances both Rod and Joy were very understanding and couldn't do enough for us a truly wonderful couple and I thank them both immensely.

I believe my title says it all. Having come back to Yr Hen Llaethdy five times in four years we clearly love this slice of Welsh heaven. Joy and Rod are extremely welcoming, the little personal touches to the cottage make the stay. The gift bag of sweets, jams and little presents for our children was perfect. We had a Chinese from the Super Garden in town, which was amazing and a must have. We visited Pen Y Bryn beach twice and highly recommend it. We will most definitely be returning. Massive thumbs up to Joy and Rod for all their hard work they put in to make Yr Hen Llaethdy a home from home.

This fantastic cottage on a working farm was sheer bliss, I’ve stayed in other cottages which were not a patch on this one and has left me with a very high benchmark for any I hire in the future. The property is so well equipped everything you could want for all ages and all weathers I was happy just staying around the cottage . Though it’s a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside and coastal area . Being here in the excellent weather we have just had was just perfect but this is a cottage for any season. The beds were so comfortable I slept so well every single night The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful and their attention to detail really shines through to give an exceptional opportunity for a superb holiday

What a beautiful cottage! We felt spoilt the moment we stepped through the door. Joy and Rod had left a beautiful Christmas hamper and presents for our children. The cottage is fully equipped, with everything above and beyond what you would expect. A lovely area to stay in, lots of lovely beaches to explore.

Amazing well equipped comfortable cottage with hot tub, private garden and log fire. Situated on a farm with animals next door and across the drive kids will love this place as well as parents. The private garden with hot tub and seating undercover (lots of knee rugs for cooler evening) provides a great space to relax and eat in all weathers. The cottage has good underfloor heating with thermostats in each room for comfort. A large bathroom with whirlpool bath and large double shower cubicle. I suggest you will return from this holiday feeling your kitchen is just not up to scratch as there is every gadget and gizmo imaginable. Joy and Rod provide a welcome pack which exceeds all expectations (I am now addicted to Tregroes chocolate waffle biscuits.). The furnishings and comfort of this cottage is well above average and nothing is too much trouble for the owners. My husband and i would describe this cottage as rare and exquisite like Welsh Gold.

Our second stay in less than 12 months and I'm so glad we gave in to the pressure from our 2 boys! Joy and Rod are the most wonderful, considerate hosts; lovely welcome hamper again and nice touches like Yankee candles in the lounge and robes for nipping to and from the hot tub. The cottage is beautifully appointed and warm, even without lighting the fire. Very comfy beds and good quality linens. We love sitting and eating outdoors, even in the winter, so the chiminea and fire pit were well used and obviously the hot tub is just heaven on earth. The surrounding area is beautiful, particularly the stunning coastline and you can get everything you need in Newcastle Emlyn, less than 10 minutes away. We will definitely be back again at some point in the future.

From the very first moment we stepped inside this holiday cottage to the very last second we left we loved it so much. The property is beautifully furnished with every need catered for. The cottage is on a working farm so you can see donkeys and cows but when you are in the cottage you forget about all of this. The hot tub is a lovely extra and a nice way to relax after exploring the many seaside towns and secluded beaches and coves. We enjoyed the area so much we intend to go back next year. Would I re commend this property? Yes. 100%. A great cottage and location for a wonderful family holiday.

The owners were there to welcome us which after a long journey was great. The cottage had all we needed. The location was perfect to go explore other towns and areas with a good time to get back. We loved that once the babies were asleep we could go outside and have a sheltered seated area to chat and relax. An overall wonderful first family holiday. We would definitely go back again and recommend others to stay!

My husband was really keen to book this cottage but I was a little reluctant because I didn't feel it would be right for our boys. I couldn't have been more wrong. Joy and Rod are brilliant hosts, providing a very generous welcome pack. The cottage is beautifully appointed; very comfortable beds, nice bed linen and towels, a very well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and the hot tub and 3D TV are great extras. The area has some stunning beaches and good value days out for families. The boys (7&9) loved the farm and Rod was good with them, allowing them to feed the animals. We've already checked to see if we could go back for our summer holiday but the cottage is booked. We will definitely be back though!

We have just returned from a week at Yr Hen Llaethdy. We were greeted by the owners who were very welcoming. The cottage is extremely well appointed and we found it to be the perfect base for exploring all west Wales has to offer. After days out we found the cottage very comfortable and relaxing, the hot tub being a great feature. Will defiantly return.

The standard of facilities was extremely good you can actually turn up with a few clothes in a bag as the owners have thought of every eventuality. Location was good plenty to do within a few mile radius or plenty to do in the cottage with board games, DVD and 3D TV provided.

Fantastic holiday! Yr Hen Llaethdy was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. The owner had thought of everything and the little extra touches made the stay even more enjoyable. The hot tub was a lovely added luxury after a day's walking. The photos do not do the cottage justice- it's much bigger in real life and is decorated to an extremely high standard. Can't wait to visit again!

Rated by Mrs Horrey reviewed on 4th January 2016

What can we say about the cottage - it was warm, homely and spotlessly clean. It was the best equipped we have ever stayed in with a fantastic kitchen and bathroom. The laundry room was very useful as the weather was wet for the whole week. It didn't stop us enjoying the wonderful coastline though and the hot tub was a great place to enjoy a drink in the evening. All in all a fantastic place to stay, we would thoroughly recommend it.

This is the second time we have been to Yr Hen Llaethdy and loved it both times. Situated adjacent to the owners' farmhouse it remains private, with help to hand if needed (not that we did), and a very warm welcome from the outset. There is no expense spared in the furnishings or comfort with everything we needed to hand. The hot tub is a favourite, and the canopy means that meals outside are lovely even when its a bit chilly or damp. This suits us because we like to be a little remote but not too far from local amenities and attractions.

The attention to detail, the excellent hosts, the feel good factor of the solar roof cells, not having to think about anything because everything was there and the privacy.

Would definitely recommend this property for a lovely holiday.

We decided on this barn as our honeymoon. It was perfect. The barn, the surroundings, the garden..... Everything!!! We took our little pug Colin and the garden was perfect for him. It is fully enclosed so he could wander around. Although it is a working farm you do not get disturbed. I have seen some negative comments about the wifi. We didn't even try it as we were on holiday and had no need for it. Joy and rod were always there when needed but didn't intrude. I would highly recommend this holiday let to anyone. And one last thing... Buy the eggs!

We stayed at this beautiful barn conversion mid- August, with two children aged 8 & 16 so it's not easy finding somewhere they will both like. The location is very remote but this only adds to the feeling you away from it all.Surrounded by cattle, donkeys and other farm animals it's a brilliant location for people who enjoy wildlife and love being outside. The barn itself is stunning, no expense is spared the kids loved jumping in the hot tub in the evening then playing on the swing in the lovely courtyard while I cooked our evening meal in the massive kitchen. The bedrooms are spotless and extremely comfortable. There is a utility room great for muddy wellies and washing clothes. The main lounge is lovely with a 3D TV and a wood burning stove which was gorgeous crackling away at night. As for things to do there's loads, newcastle emlyn itself is so pretty with lovely tea rooms and gift shops. New Quay is about 30 mins away a lovely seaside town with dolphin spotting boat trips. Folly Farm is around 50 mins away but a fantastic day out for kids and adults alike. The owners were so kind leaving my daughters a goody bag filled with biscuits, chocolate, sweets and jam which they were thrilled with. We cannot wait to return it was so relaxing and stress free.

Rated by Mrs Kelly reviewed on 10th August 2014

We had a great week in this cottage, lovely cozy cottage done up to a very high standard, we really couldnt fault it. The only thing that let it down for us was that it was too remote, we couldnt walk anywhere, ie a pub or the next village, you have to get in the car, albeit not a very long drive away. Owners lovely and didnt interfere, but always on hand should you require anything. As this cottage is set on a working farm, its a great way to get first hand experience of how a farm is run and we were lucky enough to meet a new born foul that was 12 hours old. They welcome you to wander all round the farm to say hello to all the animals .

This was our first family holiday in the UK and wow it was great. From the minute we stepped into the barn we knew we would have a good week. I am a bit "fussy" when it comes to properties and cleanliness etc but I needn't have worried, it was the cleanest and most luxurious property we have stayed in in a long time. We loved the hot tub, 3d television and the massive shower to name but a few. The kitchen was enormous and had everything you'd ever need to practice your culinary skills. It was reassuring to have an enclosed garden as with small children it can be a worry about them wandering off into the farm. We all loved saying hello to the animals daily and Rod (property owner) was even kind enough to show us around the farm and take us on a short ride to his nearby field to see his sheep and lambs! Although it is a working farm once the doors are closed the house is sound proof so the kids and us slept very well in the huge beds. There is plenty to do in the local area from stunning beaches with seals to theme parks, castles etc. the list is endless! Wifi in the property is a little hit and miss but what do you expect in the middle of the country, we were there to holiday after all and if we wanted to spend all day in he internet we'd have stayed at home. Thanks to Rod and Joy for making us feel so at home. I'm sure we'll be back!

I booked Yr Hen Llaethdy as part of my wife's 30th birthday surprise and we loved it! The pictures don't really do it justice as the cottage is stunning; the owners have done an amazing job of making it cosy, yet modern with a green twist. Highlight was the hot tub, hidden in the corner of the garden, perfect for a romantic bath with bubbles, lights off and the LED's on. During the day we had a walk around the farm and met some of the animals, the donkeys were the best! Would we come here again? Oh yes!

Top of the range appliances - a whirlpool bath, hot tub, even a 3D TV! Felt so much at home with so many comforts, we spent several rainy days just chilling at the house. The cottage was amazing and surpassed our expectations. South Wales was beautiful, the beaches fantastic and we even saw dolphins swimming in the sea. We will definitely go back.

The town where the cottage was situated was really good and had some lovely shops. The countryside was beautiful. The people who owned the cottage were very nice and nothing was too much trouble for them.

My 18 year old daughter is studying for A levels and we picked this cottage as it was the only one we found with WIFI. It doesn't have it. Excuses didn't help, there is no wifi. Left early with no refund as owners didn't care.
