Reviews

This cottage is located in a lovely place called Tanygrisiau and is an ideal location for discovering Snowdonia and the other attractions in the area such as Harlech Castle, Betwsy-Y-Coed, Black Rock Sands beach, Porthmadog to name a few. Blaneau Ffestiniog for the Steam train is literally just down the road. Zip world & the slate caverns area also close by. There is so much to see & do and the views are just breathtaking. This cottage has been lovingly restored and the owners have put a lot of thought into making their guests welcome. There was a welcome pack consisting of Wine, Juice, Milk, Butter, Cake & biscuits for us on our arrival. Also, doggy bags, treats & blankets for our pets. There is a small back yard and seating in the front garden for a nice sunny day. There is a parking space opposite the cottage and we never had difficulty parking. There is a lovely little cafe just up the road from the cottage where you can enjoy the view of the lake & watch the steam train pass by on its way to Porthmadog. It was great to come back to the cottage, light the burner and chill out after a day of walking (a starter kit of logs & coal provided). We thoroughy enjoyed our time here and have re-booked for next year.

The cottage was warm and cosy and the owners had thought about everything we could possibly need. The welcome package was a lovely start to the holiday and the fact they included treats for the dogs too! Would love to go back there again next year. The walks and the beaches we went to were brilliant.

The cottage was very homely and comfortable, great to come home to after a day walking or sightseeing. There is lots to do in the area and we also enjoyed relaxing in the cottage in front of the fire in the evenings. The wine and cake was a great welcome gift.

The bathroom had a selection of toiletries and the kitchen had condiments, spices, cleaning products etc. It was obvious the owners had tried to think of and provide all the little extras and this was greatly appreciated. All in all one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in.

The Cottage was more than we expected, clean, spacious, and a lot of thought supplying tea-sugar-wine etc, and a starter of coal and fuel lighter's, a host of other thing's went into their rental which would please any person, the area is obviously remarkable with scenery etc, as is all of Wales with so much to do, we normally visit Wales in our tourer caravan, but this was a lovely change, and Grandchildren loved every minute of the holiday meeting everyone, but then Blaenau was my home town many years ago, and came back to visit family all around Wales, would recommend this family cottage to anyone, and they wouldn't be disappointed at all

Only 5 mins walk from a steam railway station. Cottage is well-equipped with tea bags, coffee, herbs & spices, washing up liquid, toilet roll, etc.

Excellent cottage. We were very close to the Ffestiniog steam railway which we enjoyed. The transport system from Blaenau by rail and bus means that everybody can enjoy the fantastic scenery. Good area for sightseeing and walking. Lots of industrial heritage about i.e. slateworks. Quiet village but pubs etc about a mile away.
