A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Great location between Ludlow and Leominster. Lots of places of interest in the area. National Trust properties . Severn Valley railway. Acton Scott Victorian Farm to name some. Accommodation excellent. Large bungalow light and spacious and well equipped and furnished . Owners friendly and helpful . Several good eating places in the area. The Boot Inn in Yarpole very close. The Ludlow Food Centre excellent food. The best property we have stayed in with Sykes Cottages.Spacious safe garden space.
What a find , excellent accommodation, we loved it here so quiet , it was so warm and comfortable to stay here , we don't want to go home , thank you so much , can't wait to return
We liked the peace and quiet and the excellent accommodation in such a pleasant part of England, with lots of local interest.
The location was very good for stately homes, castles, gardens etc. which we were interested in, plus Ludlow and Leominster. What a lovely setting in the heart of the country with farm animals (cows) to welcome us. Such a comfortable cottage; a place to relax after a day of site seeing. I would go back there in a heart beat.
An excellent , clean and tidy cottage with everything provided. Ideally situated for visiting the local area during the day and relaxing in the cottage in the evening.
The property was spotlessly clean and well appointed, in beautiful countryside. There are lots of interesting places to visit within easy reach of the cottage.
The cottage was well placed for several National Trust properties. There were plenty of walks in the area. The cottage was very peaceful, if you want a holiday away from it all, this is for you.
Meadow Lea is a lovely warm and cosy place to stay and ideal if you have children.
The bungalow was lovely, I could live there full time. The garden area was great to sit in; peaceful, quiet and we saw quite a lot of wild life. The position it was located in which was great for seeing the surrounding areas. We were blessed with perfect weather which was a bonus.
The bungalow was just about perfect for us (2 adults, plus 2 children with walking difficulties). It has a great layout, plus it feels so much bigger within than it looks from the outside. There was a lovely view from the front and a pleasant quiet garden at the back. A 10/10 for this lovely property - I would gladly return.
We particularly liked the warm welcome from the owner. The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. Its location is quiet, but very accessible with easy parking. An ideal base for exploring the area.
What a wonderful peaceful private location, very clean & a huge chocolate cake from the farmer's wife which we ate for breakfast on sunday as we hadn't done any shopping! The view was magnificent the only thing spoiling this idyllic place was the terrible smell of diesel if we put the heating on.The drive along the single track road on the Long Mynd above Carding Mill Valley was amazing,Shropshire Hills Discovery centre was great for meals, lovely souvenirs & art gallery. We are both disabled & found locals so helpful & the bungalow fabulous.
Excellent base for visiting Hereford and Shrewsbury and many places in between. Owners very helpful when needed. Will definitely recommend.
Spent a very happy week in Meadow Lea at the beginning of april. Clean, quiet, very well equipped and a delicious cake of arrival. Stunning views across the valley to the River Lugg. Good, efficient central heating and plenty of parking.
The farm cottage has a marvellous view to the east across the Lugg valley. It was quiet and the nearby road is in a dip so there is only the occasional sound of a passing car. There are no street lights anywhere so the stars are visible at night. It is well placed for visiting Herefordshire and south Shropshire. The owners are first class hosts.
Perfectly located for visiting Leominster and Ludlow, very handy bus service to the door.
The cottage has good sized rooms. It is quiet and self contained. It has space for children to play outside and indoors. It was lovely to find fresh roses in a vase, a pint of milk in the fridge and some cakes for our arrival.
Great rural location for visiting and sightseeing. The bungalow was within easy reach of Leominster. The owner made us feel very welcome. A great time, great location and very homely property, would highly recommend.
The bungalow was in an excellent area to use as a base for exploring the surrounding towns and villages. It was exceptionally clean, warm and quite comfortable. The welcome by the owner was wonderful. All in all, a real find.
The views, the area, the interesting places to visit, the villages and market towns, the spacious accommodation and the welcome given by the owners.
