Grange Cottage, Buckden

The cottage was spotless and full of character, with a good sized parking area. The location was peaceful with amazing walks right on the doorstep and an excellent pub just up the road. We lacked for nothing!

A clean, comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings. An ideal place in which to relax.

The cottage was very comfortable and the owners were very friendly and helpful. It is an excellent centre for walking in Upper Wharfedale and touring around the area. We will return in the future.

We had a lovely time, beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the country. We look forward to returning later in the year.

Grange Cottage is ideal if you wish to isolate yourself from everyone outside Langstrothdale.The cottage has no Internet and no telephone. It does have two independent bedrooms and two independent bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and adequate to cook for yourself once in a while in an area with limited menu offerings. The combined washing machine and dryer is fr better at washing. We had an excellent time at Grange Cottage and would willingly return for a similar vacation in a few years' time.

Cottage was fab and clean, very cosy and the bed was very comfortable the sofa was hard and quite low but no other issues. the views breathtaking. loads of places to visit, plenty of walks, We would recommend this holiday to anybody. Its romantic, awesome, relaxing, challenging for walks and some of the drives on the roads but it is worth it for the stunning views. The local pub{ the George } has great food home cooked and very friendly landlord and landlady.

The holiday was totally perfect - beautiful scenery and loads of places to visit. The cottage was perfect - a great setting and peaceful.

It was a warm comfortable cosy cottage, in a stunning location. The beds were comfortable and clean. Everything we needed was in the cottage. The owners were about, but not intrusive at all. Would definitely return, and would recommend to friends and family.

We experienced a very warm welcome from the owner and help would have been available all the time. Most of the time we had nice and sunshiny weather but some rain during night kept the meadows green. We did some nice walks in the beautiful nature of the Wharfedale.

A lovely quiet little cottage with excellent amenities on a working farm in Upper Wharfedale. Quite remote and very peaceful, but close to some good local pubs and with wonderful scenery and walks right from the front door. The owners are very friendly and helpful without ever being obtrusive. We very much enjoyed our stay including the enforced extra day after we got snowed in! Suitable for all those who love the outdoors, perhaps less so for those craving access to modern entertainment - there is no mobile phone signal and the bright lights are many miles away!

A cosy, comfortable cottage with walking from the door. Being able to control our own heating was good as we had snow and severe frosts.

The location of the cottage is excellent with good walks from the door. Very cosy and warm for a Winter break.

We used the cottage as a base for a long distance path hike. It was excellent to return to. The two bathrooms were ideal as there were 3 wanting to shower. The beds were very comfortable with grand views of the countryside to great you in the mornings.

This is a great place to stay,a little bit of paradise.the location and amenities are absolutely a1.Great location and walks ,forget your car you will not need it.Such a beatiful place ,wished i had stayed longer than a week.

This is a lovely barn conversion on a working farm in the small village of Hubberholme. Beautiful old church in village, lots of walks from the cottage, great pub with food within walking distance, great Dales views from cottage.

The barn was set in an excellent location and made a lovely cosy and well equipped cottage with a high standard of decor.

We found Grange Cottage fantastic, couldn't fault it. It was in a great area of the Dales we have not been to. Lots of great walks from the door, we hardly used the car. Lovely friendly people and a few good pints at the local.

We spent a lovely week in Grange cottage, a very cosy and comfortable cottage in a beautiful scenery. We loved the great view from our kitchenwindow, it was so quiet. We made some great hikes nearby and every week since we are home, we say to another, oh, I want to be again in Grange cottage, in the Yorkshire Dales. To bad it is such an long travel, since we live in Holland. But we'll come again, that is for sure!!

You can make beautiful, circular walks near the cottage.

The setting was ideal; quiet and in a lovely valley. We were able to walk from the door. The cottage was warm (necessary in a cool April) and comfortable.

It was secluded, quiet, miles from 21st century 'civilisation' - you couldn't even get a mobile phone signal. Yet there was a pub 5 minutes walk away in Hubberholme and all the facilities you required (shop, restaurant, another pub) a 5 minute drive away in Buckden. A great base for walking and for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Cottage was lovely and we have already recommended it to some friends for the future.

The cottage was excellent and lived up to our expectations from the internet site. The internet site was accurate and informative showing pictures of all the rooms. This is important when booking from overseas (Australia). All the equipment worked well and adequate instructions were provided. The owner met us on arrival, welcomed us and explained all the details of the cottage and the local area. Fortunately the weather was excellent Sept 2008).The location was beautiful and very convenient for pubs and local villages. The property was very comfortable and with great views. Good local pubs as well as good walks and drives in spectacular scenery. Overall a great holiday and we would be happy to return.

Grange Cottage was the 10th ‘Sykes’ cottage we have stayed in, and it was the best yet. The accommodation was excellent – clean, warm and cosy and the owners were extremely friendly.

The location of the property could not be better - fantastic views from every window in the cottage and beautiful walks from the doorstep. The cottage is of a very high standard, one of the best we have ever had with Sykes.

The cottage which is one of a pair has been carefully and thoughtfully converted from a barn. The standard throughout is exceptional. A good blend of old world charm with excellent modern facilities.

It is a lovely place to spent holidays. The area is fantastic and the cottage is very comfortable.

The location was so beautiful and peaceful, with a great feeling in the house which has been restored to a high standard. Felt very "at home".

The cottage was obviously lovingly cared for and extremely well maintained. The owners were very helpful but not intrusive. We would not hesitate to return to Grange Cottage. There are excellent walks from the door and lots of good, reasonably priced eating places nearby.

The accommodation was excellent and the location was perfect. We particularly liked the fact that we could start walks directly from the cottage therefore avoid the need to take the car.

Excellent cottage in a wonderful spot. We were even left some milk and farm eggs on arrival - a nice welcoming touch.

The cottage had a homely feel and we felt very comfortable there. It has been extremely well refurbished in keeping with the original features. The pub down the road served excellent food and and was very welcoming. An all round excellent place to stay.
