Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
We had a wonderful stay in the farmhouse , a lovely big area for 14 of us . The house was beautiful and the views amazing. Barbara the owner is lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Tea coffee etc all there for us and lovely fresh flowers was a nice touch . Piggy pottery was fab too we had a good few hours both days , relaxing and fun . I will definitely be returning in the future .
We had a great weekend here, really well equipped, spotless accommodation and great location. Nothing not to like!!! Second visit for us and will not be the last.
Stayed for a surprise weekend for husbands 70th birthday. House was wonderful with lots of room for all. Brilliant location. All grandchildren loved painting pots at Barbara’s (the owner) piggy pottery. Even got to throw a pot. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Thank you Barbara for all the welcome goodies you left including milk and cake. Also for making us all so welcome. Would recommend this farmhouse to any large family.
This accommodation was absolutely superb and suited our needs to a tee. Owner Barbara was extremely polite and helpful. There were eleven of us all on motor cycles taking a winter get together and finding such a welcoming site was amazing. Three of our group took the opportunity to make use o the adjoining pottery studio where we could decorate our own pots and see what an extremely talented lady Barbara is. Cannot wait to return
This farmhouse was amazing. The perfect location for the beautiful scenes of north Wales and so close to so many incredible activities. Everything in the farmhouse was clean, and plenty of utensils for all of us. Barbara was also amazingly accommodating opening up to allow us to paint at piggery pottery next door to suit our timetable of action packed fun and games to celebrate our friends 'last fling before the ring'! Plenty of parking space copious bathrooms and we were so lucky the amazing weather allowed us to enjoy the garden as well as the beautiful house. Would love to visit again. The perfect place for an action packed weekend.
In a wonderful setting and it was very spacious. The owner was very helpful and there were lots of activities for children in the area.
A fantastic location and amazing farmhouse. We really enjoyed our stay!
Such a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting.
Had fabulous views, lots of comfy seating areas, was warm and had a bathroom per bedroom. In easy reach of Snowdonia and the coast, with river access on the property.
The cottage had an ensuite to all the bedrooms which worked well for us, as did the number of reception rooms. The location of the property was superb and gave us easy access to a number of places to visit. The owner was very welcoming.
Stayed at this 5 bed farmhouse for a weekend away with friends and teenage kids (14 people in total). We had a great weekend, and traveled down after work on the Friday evening. The farmhouse was comfortable and is in a great location. The farmhouse has plenty of room downstairs, plenty of hot water, was lovely and warm (we even turned the heat off at times) and decent size bedrooms - all with en-suite shower room. We took a trip down to Llanberis on the Saturday morning. The 'girls' all went into the on site Pottery Centre for the afternoon and had a great few hours painting Xmas themed pottery mementos, whilst the 'lads' went to the local pub which is 5 mins walk away. This was a great weekend at a good price.
This cottage was amazing; in a great setting, with big bedrooms, kitchen and living rooms for us all to hang out in. We might come back every year! It also had a pottery place next door run by the lady that owns the house which was lots of fun and super cheap.
I loved the size of the property and the garden. The location was perfect for us too. The pottery was a great place to spend time with the family. The owner of the farm house was very accommodating and a really nice lady. I would love to go back as there was a lot that we didn't get chance to see.
Booked this 5 bed farmhouse for a weekend away with friends and work colleagues, a group of 9. We had such a great weekend, we travelled after work on the Friday a bit of a delay on the A5 but apart from that easy to find. The farmhouse looks impressive and a great tranquil location. Mrs Winrow was very helpful and left us a welcoming pack, which was very thoughtful. The farmhouse has plenty of room downstairs, plenty hot water and decent size bedrooms. Barbara even drove us down to Llanberis on the Saturday morning for our walk up Snowdon. We had a meal booked at the local pub which is 5 mins walk. Where we found friendly locals and a good choice of food. We decided to have a go at painting a pig at the Piggery Pottery Craft Centre which is on site. We spent a couple of hours there which we all enjoyed. We all agree that it was a great weekend and would definately return.
Our group of 9 all enjoyed our weekend away. The accommodation was excellent, great location, beautiful setting and the owner was so helpful and even offered to take us to Llanberis to the start of our walk up Snowdon. She provided us with a welcome pack which was very thoughtful. We had a go at painting a pot at the Piggery Pottery on site which was great fun. Can't fault the location ,the village and accommodation. Could you please pass on our thanks to the owner for making us so welcome. We are sure to recommend the farmhouse to our friends, colleagues and family. Hope to go back soon.
This was a family holiday with a total of 8 family and friends staying. It is in a great location for exploring the northern half of Snowdonia and we had good road access to Llanberris aswell as Bedgelert and the Ogwen valley, all within a 20 minute drive. This was great for days out on the hills. The accommodation is as described on the Sykes site but I would say that the decor is looking a bit tired and worn but overall still functional. The kitchen could do with a refit as it does'nt cater easily for large groups, there is plenty of pots, pans etc but the cooker hob is next to useless as you cant fit 2 large pans on at the same time! Its a great place for active people looking for a base rather than a luxury break. The pub up the road does good food at reasonable prices. All of our party would stay here again, just wish the kitchen was a bit more user friendly.
Ddol Helyg Farmhouse was very well laid out for a large group. The location of the farmhouse was excellent. A perfect base for groups of walkers and those looking to explore the surrounding area.
Great base for discovering the Snowdonia area, good property for large family or friend groups. Plenty of room to spread out with each bedroom being en-suite.
Really disappointed with this place pictures look great on web but in reality nowhere near as good . Taking plates and pans from cupboards only to find dirty from last guests is not a good start. Water leaking through ceiling from one bedroom . Shower thermostatic valve not working so got scalding showers ( unless you are more than fifth to use as there is no more hot water available ) which is strange for accommodation for 15. We book large houses each year for new year for the last 10 years and this is way below what we expected Felt like it really needed a good scrubbing
The property was a perfect size suited to our needs.
House is very comfy, warm and welcoming.. Own entrance and parking. Ideal kitchen for entertaining and lovely conservatory with fantastic views over the countryside and mountains. The big sofa in the living room was very snug! Lovely! Barbara was around when needed and was very welcoming. We had a night in the pottery with her making pots and painting Christmas decorations which was hugely enjoyable. Great location.
Beautiful property in beautiful surroundings. The owner could not have been more helpful and was very accommodating with the children.
Generally a comfortable, spacious and warm property. We enjoyed our stay.
Location is excellent, and views are good. It is easy to get around to key sightseeing locations. The owner is very helpful. The accommodation is spacious. We had a good holiday.
The location was gorgeous, with so much to do. It was beautiful
The location and the host were both fantastic. It's ideally situated to climb Snowdon and the garden is beautiful. The host opened up her pottery studio for us one evening and it was a highlight of our trip. We were twelve 30 year olds and everyone agreed that we will be coming back for a return visit.
The cottage is nicely located. The view from the conservatory is great. The landlady is very friendly and helpful. Had a great time.
First time we've booked with Sykes Cottages. Very easy process and regular contact and updates from company. The cottage was good size for 14 people and separate living spaces worked really well for us. Great location for walking up Snowdon and visiting Caernavon and Anglesey.
The cottage was very comfortable and easily absorbed all 11 of us.
Fantastic location and views. So much to see and do nearby! We had such a packed week and yet felt we didn't even scratch the surface. Owner was very helpful.
Lovely property overall, well sized for our family group, cozy in the evening, everyone had their own bathrooms and all the rooms were good size. Would definitely use it again.
A first class and very relaxed environment with a very friendly owner.
My family and I spent a relaxing week here during august 2012. The owner could not have been more accommodating. The property was well equiped, clean and spacious and the conservatory provided a welcome spot in which to relax and enjoy the scenary whilst suffering joys of the wonderful Welsh weather!
The property was very well appointed and comfortable and the owner was a joy.
Plenty of space for our party of six adults and two big dogs. The conservatory was bright, airy and spacious and gave a tremendous view of the mountain ranges.
A lovely large house, great for big families or large group of friends. The pig pottery was good fun and the kids loved it.
There were 10 of us staying at Llanrug; 6 adults, 1 teenager and 3 children and it was perfect with 5 bedrooms - all en-suite. Really nice location close to Llanberis and very quiet. Secure garden so the children could play outside. WiFi so the teenager was happy! Overall excellent accomodation
The owner was particularly helpful, lending us kitchen equipment and supplying extra items. The house accommodated all 10 of us comfortably. It was warm and there was always plenty of hot water. The view (when we could see it through the mist!) was magnificent. A lovely place to stay.
Ideally situated for all the attractions in the area, especially Snowdonia. Perfect for our party of 10!
We particularly liked the size of the property, it had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and three different sitting areas. The owner was very helpful and all the children (and adults!) really enjoyed making use of the facilities at the adjoining Piggery Pottery.
The location was amazing and the house was great for a family reunion. The local pub was within walking distance and had an excellent menu. All in all, we couldn't have asked for more!
Had a great holiday - The Farmhouse was excellent throughout and our hostess couldn't have been more helpful. It's been a long time since we last visited North Wales but hope to be back soon. Stunning scenery, beautiful places to visit - We didn't want to leave!
The Farmhouse is ideally situated with activities to suit all. We were a group of mixed ages ranging from 2 - 70 years, and particularly enjoyed the pottery, local walks and the 'Ropes and Ladders' activity centre. The house had enough space for us all without us falling over each other.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was really clean and very warm. The views are amazing.
We loved the Farmhouse! Great old home with comfortable accommodation. The owner is a jewel! The pottery and equestrian centres were wonderful additions. Fabulous location and wonderful mountain views.
Lovely views and the owner was very helpful. It was also a good place for a large family get-together.
Wonderful setting! Ideal property for a large group. Nice having the Piggery Pottery attached, which the children loved, young and old. Very suitable property for all ages.
The directions to the cottage were excellent, we came from 4 directions and everyone got there with no problems. We were greeted by the very friendly owner, who showed us around the house. Facilities were excellent, and we all looked forward to our meals overlooking mountains and glorious scenery. The rooms were good, comfortable and provided all we wanted. They had workable showers and I think the TVs worked although we did not use them, there was too much to do and see in the area. The cooker provided a challenge, but we cracked it quite quickly although this I believe is being changed to a simpler one. Th owner told us of the many walks from the door and nearby. Everyone was sad to leave but we will all be back.
Friendly and helpful owner. Child friendly pottery next door. Fantastic views of Snowdonia.
The accommodation was first rate, the weather helped considerably. Having en-suites with every bedroom was really good. I would recommend this holiday home to anybody.
The owner made us feel so welcome. She even gave the children a ride on her horse and allowed them to visit the stables when they wanted. The house was delightful and the view was magnificent. We will be going again. The Piggery Pottery was enjoyed by all.
The local pub is within walking distance and very friendly. Good base for visiting Anglesey, castles and walking.
Beautiful setting, and a well maintained homely property. The owners could not do enough to make us welcome and the Pottery is a must for a quiet night in! Our family party of 10 adults had a great time so much so that we have already booked again for next year!
We had a fabulous weekend and would definitely recommend this cottage to others.
Owner of property absolutely great. Large group/ family friendly. Superb area.
The owners were very warm and welcoming, however non-intrusive at the same time. They were on hand to help us with any queries we had.
We had a great week. Hope to return next year.
We liked everything about our holiday. The cottage was in an ideal location to visit all the places we wanted to visit.
A very good farmhouse to stay for a family holiday. We were made very welcome.
Everything, beautiful location, great house, kids loved the Piggery Pottery, easy driving distance to many beaches and great views from the house, so good we have already booked for next year.
The property is a great size and the owners were very nice. It was a wonderful venue for a family and friends reunion. The pottery next door was great for the kids.
Wonderful scenery and plenty to do within driving distance. We loved the 'Piggery Pottery'. The children are still talking about feeding the horses. The owner was also very hospitable and welcomed us to her home.
I enjoyed the location is beautiful. The cottage itself was well kept, with lovely furnishing and views. I would definitely return to this cottage.
The location was great and the fact all rooms were en-suite made the house ideal.
We were made to feel very welcome and the Farmhouse was cosy and well proportioned. The locals were all very nice.
The owners of the property were very helpful, giving us ideas on places to visit. We felt very much at home there. Lovely walks and a fantastic variety of books to read.
Nice house. Great location. Interesting places to visit. Nice beaches nearby.
Having the pottery close at hand was a big bonus.
Modern comfort in a traditional house.
The cottage is on a pottery where you can paint your own pot, pig, train etc. the kids loved it. The cottage has a lovely conservatory with gorgeous views and the owners were really helpful.
We were all very impressed for the excellent standard of the accommodation for the price.
Good accommodation within easy reach of the mountains. Very helpful owner of property.
It was a gorgeous house and we had a great stay. The owners were very friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend it to others. We loved the high standard of decoration and furnishing and the board games!
