Reviews

My mum booked a long weekend here as a birthday treat for my partner and I along with the two pooches and I have to say we enjoyed every minute. The country cottage offered everything we needed and was located in a beautiful spot with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. It’s a very remote location making it so peaceful but the town is just a short drive with several accessible supermarkets if we needed to nip out for anything. We were out mostly enjoying the scenery with the dogs and found somewhere new each day, a couple of great recommendations from the owner. It’s a cold time of year but the cottage was lovely and toasty every time we got back in. The owner was very approachable and friendly should we have needed anything. We loved it, the dogs loved it and we will be returning in the future to explore some more for sure!

We loved the location - central to all we wanted to do and quiet and peaceful. The garden is delightful - pretty and relaxing with plenty of fruit trees to scrimp and enjoy. The cottage itself is delightful, comfortable and well equipped. Although it is next to the main house - it was private. Our hostess was lovely and welcoming and just left us to use the cottage as our own home.

The setting is fantastic, everywhere is easy to get to and the local people are very friendly with a few characters thrown in for good measure. It was the first time we had spent Christmas in a cottage, and we were a little nervous. But the cottage was cosy, well equipped and homely, and the owner was very welcoming. The kitchen was very well equipped and managed all our Christmas cooking very well. The situation is great, lots of lovely walking nearby. Overall very restful and we would definitely do it again!

Rated by Mrs Sinclair reviewed on 30th December 2013

The owner has provided everything you could possibly need for your stay. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped for both practical and entertainment requirements. The maps and pamphlets provided are a nice touch and very useful for planning a day out. The cottage is ideally located for sightseeing on both sides of the England /Wales border. Symonds Yat, The Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are all within easy reach. The steam railways in Brecon and FOD were of particular interest. Overall a very enjoyable week. We would definitely recommend the area and cottage to others looking to come this way. If you like walking, cycling and have dogs you've come to the right place.

The owner was lovely, very welcoming and friendly and was pleased to see our dogs so we felt right at home. The cottage location within the boundary of Pembridge House was wonderful and the cottage garden was so pretty and private and peaceful. It is situated in a lovely quiet area. There were lovely walks for the dogs and so many places to go and visit within comfortable driving distance of the cottage. All in all a fabulous holiday and I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
