My mum booked a long weekend here as a birthday treat for my partner and I along with the two pooches and I have to say we enjoyed every minute. The country cottage offered everything we needed and was located in a beautiful spot with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. It’s a very remote location making it so peaceful but the town is just a short drive with several accessible supermarkets if we needed to nip out for anything. We were out mostly enjoying the scenery with the dogs and found somewhere new each day, a couple of great recommendations from the owner. It’s a cold time of year but the cottage was lovely and toasty every time we got back in. The owner was very approachable and friendly should we have needed anything. We loved it, the dogs loved it and we will be returning in the future to explore some more for sure!
The situation of Pembridge Cottage is close to both country side and the local town of Monmouth. We were able to walk the dog both on and off the property and the owner was helpful, without being intrusive.
Tastefully furnished with comfortable beds and cotton bed linen. Beautiful grounds and a small garden for our use.The cottage met all our needs and gave us a pleasant break away.
We particularly liked the beautiful, peaceful setting and the easy access from all routes. The owners were friendly and helpful; providing excellent local information on days out, eating out, local activities and walks.
We had a lovely stay and were made to feel very welcome.
A cute cottage in lovely setting. It was nice having a sunny private area of the garden to use. The owners were very helpful.
The location was perfect, the cottage had all the facilities we needed, and the owner was very welcoming.
The cottage location was excellent for visiting the castles and lots of other sites. It is a good place to stay in and eat when ever necessary. The cottage would especially be recommended to people on walking holidays with dogs.
I loved the friendly nature of the owner of the property, she made sure we had everything and then some. Will Book again.
The beautiful setting and ease of getting to many places. We would love to come again.
We loved the peace and quiet of the location
We loved the location - central to all we wanted to do and quiet and peaceful. The garden is delightful - pretty and relaxing with plenty of fruit trees to scrimp and enjoy. The cottage itself is delightful, comfortable and well equipped. Although it is next to the main house - it was private. Our hostess was lovely and welcoming and just left us to use the cottage as our own home.
The cottage was absolutely beautiful.
A fantastic holiday! Enjoyed by both myself and my wife. The standard of this accommodation is VERY high, there is nothing lacking in utilities. A very easy going, peaceful, enjoyable holiday. The setting is fantastic, everywhere is easy to get to and the local people are very friendly with a few characters thrown in for good measure. The owner is a brilliant person, a pleasure to have met and to know.
Lovely peaceful location, the sound of silence at night, and wonderful scenery all around.
An excellent cottage in a fabulous location. Well-equipped and very clean.
Very nice walks from the property and a very nice owner. She has two very friendly dogs and our children loved playing with them.
It was the first time we had spent Christmas in a cottage, and we were a little nervous. But the cottage was cosy, well equipped and homely, and the owner was very welcoming. The kitchen was very well equipped and managed all our Christmas cooking very well. The situation is great, lots of lovely walking nearby. Overall very restful and we would definitely do it again!
The owner has provided everything you could possibly need for your stay. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped for both practical and entertainment requirements. The maps and pamphlets provided are a nice touch and very useful for planning a day out. The cottage is ideally located for sightseeing on both sides of the England /Wales border. Symonds Yat, The Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are all within easy reach. The steam railways in Brecon and FOD were of particular interest. Overall a very enjoyable week. We would definitely recommend the area and cottage to others looking to come this way. If you like walking, cycling and have dogs you've come to the right place.
The owner was lovely, very welcoming and friendly and was pleased to see our dogs so we felt right at home. The cottage location within the boundary of Pembridge House was wonderful and the cottage garden was so pretty and private and peaceful. It is situated in a lovely quiet area. There were lovely walks for the dogs and so many places to go and visit within comfortable driving distance of the cottage. All in all a fabulous holiday and I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

The setting was beautiful and the cottage was more equipped than I could have ever imagined. The owners were friendly and courteous and I would have no hesitation in returning. The fact that the dogs were also catered for was a huge plus for us. The proximity to all of the areas we wanted to visit was also a massive benefit.
The cottage, garden and surrounding area were lovely. The owners of the cottage lived in the house in the grounds and were extremely friendly and helpful when approached. We throughly enjoyed the holiday and would be happy to recommend the cottage.
We could not praise the accommodation highly enough and certainly hope to return. We were warmly welcomed and help and information was happily and quickly given. Careful thought has gone into anticipating guests needs and many extra comforts have been provided. The location was ideal for us to tour Herefordshire and some of Wales. We travelled with a 20 month old infant and the stair gate was greatly appreciated. Pembridge Cottage was a highlight of our UK holiday.

We have stayed in many cottages and this one was excellent - so different from others in that it was decorated and furnished in a modern scheme. The owner (and the family) were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Would highly recommend this cottage and the area.
The cottage (which was a converted barn) was beautifully presented, set in the owners lovely garden. Recommended.
Lovely, quiet, rural area, possible to walk from the cottage but also within easy reach of River Wye, Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Owner helpful re local amenities and provides maps etc for use of guests.
