Fantastic kitchen and overall cleanliness. Very good local restaurant and it was extremely peaceful and relaxing.
Excellent accommodation. Great place. Would recommend to all. Good for heating and convenient for eating out.
Cark House is a lovely building set in well maintained landscaped grounds with the river running close. It is situated in a very peaceful setting. The cottage is very well equipped and had everything we required and more. The open plan kitchen, dining room was very pleasant to sit and dine in, which we did most nights of our holiday. It is very well placed for visiting the lakes and Grange over Sands which is close by.
Stayed here for 1 week at end of July. Apt is very clean, well equipped and spacious. Large dining room and kitchen. Area Is very quiet and a great location for visiting nearby villages and places around Lake Windermere.
Lovely house in a particularly peaceful and beautiful part of the country.
The apartment was scrupulously clean. The spaciousness and uncluttered, elegant style gave a sense of tranquillity which, added to the quiet location, made relaxation very easy.
Location was ideal to visit nearby attractions, Cartmel, Grange-over-sands, Holker Hall and nearby Lakes. Accommodation was very good.
The apartment was so beautiful. Every room had such a different feel, I loved it. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and everywhere was wonderfully clean! Shower and bath were great and the bed was very comfortable. The surrounding area was idyllic, plenty of walks from the doorstep. A very short walk to local pub and shop, what more could you ask for?
Beautiful apartment lovely area ideal location.Cark House had everything we needed kitchen area was first class lovely bathroom and very clean through out what more could you ask for . Would recommend to anyone .
Lovely place, superb kitchen, very clean, would definitely stop there again, brilliant, thank you.
House well positioned and equipped. A big plus for us was that the seating in lounge was comfortable (unlike some rentals we have had). Overall a nice place to be based.
Everything was to my liking; I appreciated the standard of housekeeping; I would definitely stay again
The location and very spacious kitchen dining area and reception room. It was nice and quiet and well equipped.
This apartment, in a beautiful spot, has too many faults to make it top quality. On the plus side it's in a great location in a nice old building with a good pub a short stroll away. There are some good local walks and some superb walks a short drive away. The lovely old village of Cartmel, with its beautiful ancient abbey, is only a couple of miles away, the beautiful Holker Hall is within walking distance and the old fashioned and friendly seaside town of Grange over Sands is about a 10 minute drive away. It is also easy to explore the area by train as there is a fairly frequent, though not entirely reliable service all along the coast of Morcambe Bay and up as far as Carlisle, with the station just a short walk away. The apartment was disappointing though. The kitchen is large, beautifully fitted out and very well equiped. The bathroom is also good, with loads of instant hot water. But the lounge is stark, with a grubby and fairly tatty carpet and was very cold during daylight hours, with the heating times restricted and no access to an over-ride or additional heat source. It was really rather miserable on a cold, very wet early autumn day. The bedroom is simply horrible though, with a cheap and squeaky bed base topped by an even cheaper unsupportive mattress and cheap bedding. We left a day early as we could not bear the thought of trying to sleep in it for one more night, and we both needed physio treatment for back pain when we got home. It's a shame - this apartment could be a real winner with a bit more thought and investment in guests' comfort. Directions to find the key were also laughably poor. We were lucky to be able to ask a resident of a nearby house, otherwise we would have not been able to get access at all.
