Reviews

Whiteparish is a fantastic village with two great dog friendly pubs. The accommodation is large but could do with a bit of work. It was fairly clean but could do with new bedding and towels. The children enjoyed the table tennis table etc, It wasn’t easy to sit and watch tv together as a family. Great location for days out.

Had a lovely weekend stay in the chapel. We stayed for a family wedding in the area. The chapel was spotless and had everything you needed. 2 double bedrooms and a bedroom with 2 bunk beds. Walk in shower was great and so was the roll top bath in the main bathroom. Whiteparish is a lovely village, local pub and shop nearby. Games room with full size snooker table, table tennis table and foosball table. Great for kids too as lots of games and toys. Would love to stay again. Owner was very friendly and gave all the information we needed.

We spent a family Christmas at the chapel. Myself and my husband, eldest daughter with partner, and three teenage children. This review is written from my perspective, as Mum, and the sensible adult. The children all thought it absolutely brilliant and spent a considerable amount of time in the games room. The downstairs of the property is fabulous, a large family room and an even larger games room with full size snooker table and table tennis - both much used. The kitchen fairly well equipped, but Christmas dinner for seven was slightly challenging. We found it lacking in silly things: potato peeler, kitchen scissors, serving spoons, rather than crockery, pans and electrical goods. I had two big issues with the property and as the week went on, they became the elephant in the room. The bedrooms are upstairs in the chapel roof and the bathroom downstairs across the games room and through a hallway. There is one indoors toilet and it is integral to the bathroom. It seemed a long way to the loo in the middle of the night, and the squabbling and queues for the bathroom, particularly for the bedtime teeth cleaning became wearing. We took a dog, a rather lively spaniel and my biggest issue was that the main door opened directly to the street, which the dog clearly saw as a bid for freedom. There is no garden, and so every time the dog needed a wee someone (usually me or my husband) had to walk said dog around the roads. That, combined with someone having to hang on to the dog every time the door was opened led to a stressful time. The children would be back in a heartbeat. I wouldn't take the dog there again, and I've decided that I am getting a bit long in the tooth and have had too many children to be sleeping on a different level to the bathroom. The other thing to be aware of is that the building has been constructed with acoustics in mind, and noise travels exceptionally well. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and would recommend it to others, and my rating is personal and not reflective of the rest of the group.

Loved the accommodation, and having the games facilities was a real bonus. The Chapel was spacious, warm and comfortable. There was a great selection of DVDs and CDs to watch and listen to too. Plus the novelty of staying in a converted chapel. The location was great too, went on some lovely walks and Salisbury isn't far.

Amazing!!! We booked this as a last minute get away. The building is beautiful, with so much character. The bedrooms are all good sizes with comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you need (a home away from home) So much to do inside the house, between playing snooker, table tennis or table football or even reading one of the many books provided. Lovely family pup at the end of the road. We all had a fantastic short break and wish we could have stayed longer. Wifi password was provided just before we arrived and worked great! Vendor was very helpful.

We hired for weekend with four children / four adults, weather was damp and miserable but that didn't matter as the chidren absolutely loved it. The games room is awesome and the place as a whole brought back childhood memories of an old sunday school. The villagers were all very, very friendly. It had everything needed for cooking, sleeping, cleaning showering etc., and made an excellent base whether going into the new forest or to the coast. I would say ideal place if you have young children. Owner was very friendly also, we had option to call him at anytime if we needed anything.

The Methodist Chapel was lovely and much bigger than we imagined. It was perfect for a family trip with small people. The kitchen space was big but cosy and separate from the bedrooms which was perfect for when the little people were asleep.

Just an amazing place. The games room, sensational. Very friendly area, happily return and recommend to friends.

The Methodist Chapel was extremely spacious for our family of 5. It was well furbished and stocked in the kitchen, and the games room was a great asset in entertaining us in the evenings. The two bathrooms get our thumbs up too!

We stayed here August 2015 and had a great time. There is plenty of room in the chapel, the games room is excellent, it has a tv, dvd player, wifi and music system as well ,so if it was chucking it down the kids would have plenty to keep them occupied for ages. The shower room is good, and there is a freestanding bath in the other bathroom. There's a washing machine and tumble dryer too. The kitchen/diner is large with a table big enough for 8 people or more. There are two pubs in the village and both do nice food. The village is quiet and is on the edge of the New Forest. Salisbury is not far to go for shopping. We would certainly go back there and would recommend it for big families.

Absolutely brilliant, perfect for our family group. The snooker table and table tennis kept us thoroughly entertained and there was plenty of space. A good spot to access the New Forest and Salisbury. Over the road from a brilliant park too.

A fabulous property for a family gathering, plenty of space for you all. Loved the games room and spacious kitchen/sitting area with all you need. Lovely touch was receiving milk, bread and tea/coffee on arrival. Also, we enjoyed the extras with plenty of DVDs, music and books around the property. Would definitely book again!

We were all together to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday, and it was certainly one to remember! Although the chapel is modernised and comfortable, it retains the charm, dimensions and quirky features of its original use. Our grandsons loved the games room, as did the adults of course! It was great for all 8 of us to be able to eat round the table together. The amenities in the village were perfect, as was the countryside for walking.

The Methodist Chapel was an excellent choice for a party of seven plus two dogs. The property was very well equipped, with modern appliances and there was an impressive wet room and a spacious bathroom. The games room was superb! The children's eyes lit up, when they saw the full size snooker table, the table tennis table, the football game, the piano and the small organ. We loved this interesting, spacious property. Whiteparish is a quiet, attractive village and there is plenty to do in the area.

Rated by Mrs Browne reviewed on 2nd June 2014

My husband and I both loved the space and quirkiness of the property, and thoroughly enjoyed making use of the various activities in the games room. We loved the peace and tranquillity of the place, and we thought the village definitely lived up to its desirable status. We went for a few days of relaxation and quiet and we certainly got that. Excellent for a family, with all needs catered for.

This place was fantastic. It was huge and homely. My kids loved the table football table, snooker and table tennis. The village had a couple of great pubs a few minutes walk away. Can't fault this place, would highly recommend.

A great property and space for our families to unwind and play, lots to keep the children happy. Very child friendly.

Rated by Mrs Prodger reviewed on 23rd March 2014

The owner was so friendly and helpful. The property was an ideal village escape for a family. The extra large games room allowed the children and teenagers plenty of room to play snooker, piano, organ and games even on a rainy January day and the basket full of toys was greatly appreciated by our youngest. Everything was provided and the kitchen was a dream to cook in. We thoroughly enjoyed our eleven day stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The village is very friendly and has a well-stocked local shop and three pubs all serving food.

This place is ideal for all ages. We were 10 at the weekend ages ranging for 75 down to 7 and we all loved it. Spacious, comfy, lots to do inside and out and about to the coast and New Forest. Grandchildren said it was "awesome". We all want to go again. Everything you want provided. Loved it. we particularly went for the snooker, the full sized table is flawless.

We really liked the Chapel, as it was quirky and different from the usual holiday lets. Our grandchildren thought it was brilliant! The owners give an excellent array of things to keep adults and kids amused. We would definitely recommend it for a break!

Rated by Mr Wisdom reviewed on 26th August 2013

This lovely property really had the wow factor - it was a lovely place to stay, with all the comforts of home. The space was enormous! There were two huge rooms on the ground floor - the old school room which was a kitchen/diner/living area and where we spent most of our time. The second was the old church room, which had a couple of sofa's and a TV, and three large games tables. Above this room was a mezzanine level where the three adjoining bedrooms were. The beds were very comfortable, which is always a bonus! In the children's room there was a large selection of Polly Pocket toys which kept my 3 year old twins occupied for many hours! The shower in the wet room was the best - I could've passed a day in there!! There were a couple of downsides to the property, but nothing major. The first was that the 3 bedrooms were small and adjoined. We were a party of two young families including a baby, so baby crying in the night meant that we were all awake. This wouldn't be an issue with an older party though. The second was that there was only one indoor toilet - which was an issue especially as we had two toilet-training children and a baby that required bathing. There was an outdoor toilet, but I wasn't brave enough to use it just in case I found a spider... It also can't be used after 10pm as it disturbs the neighbours. The surrounding locality was fantastic - the corner shop sold everything we needed, the Tesco's delivery drivers do many deliveries to the property and knew it well. Bearing in mind our trip was for young children, there was a great park just across the main road there were many soft play amenities within 1/2hr drive. We spent one day at Poulton's Park for Peppa Pig World and would highly recommend it. All in all a lovely stay - a well equipped holiday accommodation with a friendly, helpful owner. There were plenty of games/books/toys and home comforts.
