Beautiful accommodation in a lovely rural area very peaceful. The barn was very well equipped and plenty of room with lots of little extras to make your stay comfortable. The welcome package was a lovely touch. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. Lots of places to visit nearby. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner.

Our family of 8 stayed in both properties on this site for a long weekend to attend a christening locally. We had a wonderful time the barn conversion is lovely and has everything plus that you could possibly need. We hosted a drinks and nibbles party on the Saturday night for 12 adults and there were more than enough glasses, plates etc and parking! We all loved our stay, there was a warm welcome from the owners and a lovely welcome basket in each property. We hope to be back!

We decided at the last moment to visit Wales. So only booked this on the Tuesday before we travelled on the Friday. We could not have chosen any better. This place is absolutely beautiful. Every thing you could possibly need is here. The rooms are so spacious, and set out so lovingly. The kitchen is great, with every item you could possibly need. If I could rate this more than 5* I would. Visited with my wife, daughter and three grandsons. Aged 19,15,11 and they absolutely loved it. We will be back

This is my 4th time here... I always get excited about my stay here its peaceful quite clean and gives you a home from home feeling. It's close enough to the M4 but still in the middle of such beautiful countryside. I'm planning another few trips here this year you really won't be disappointed 5 star accommodation. The owners are always welcoming and always leave you a goodie basket which is always appreciated. There's so much in Wales to do you will be spoilt for choice. But this is one place you really don't want to miss out on.

We rate this cottage 5 stars. My daughters, boyfriends & I come away each year to celebrate Xmas early & have yet to come across such a beautiful cottage to spend our special weekend away. The pub was 15 / 20 minute walk away, the cottage was warm with heated flooring, spacious, clean, well lit & just utterly perfect. Will 100% be returning here what a lovely place.

This barn can not be bettered. It is warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean, spacious, and well equipped. The owners are delightful and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly without being intrusive. We love the welcome basket and flowers. This was our second visit and we are sure to return.

This beautiful cottage far exceeds all expectations. It simply has this wow factor about it. Beautiful countryside yet close to the M4. You couldnt wish for a more warm clean home from home feeling. The owners Dawn and Brian are fantastic nothing is too much trouble. This is my 4th visit to Wales this year my 2nd visit to Ysgubor Hir. The next day after returning home i had already booked another week here in March next year. I highly recommend this cottage you will definitely not be disappointed. 5 star accommodation.

My wife and I , together with another couple, have holidayed in many places in the UK for the last 25 years. This place is one of the best , if not the best, we have stayed in on a purely accommodation level. Couldn't fault the place and Dawn was lovely as well. Enough said....

Rated by hexys reviewed on 9th October 2016

We've stayed in a lot of self catering cottages but this is definitely the best to-date. Thank you Dawn for providing all the home-from-home touches. The kitchen contained all the condiments, foil, cling film etc you could want. Bedding, towels, soap and toilet paper all provided. Not only that but Dawn left us a welcome basket of chocolates, drinks and welsh cakes. When we arrived dawn came to welcome us and again to say goodbye. Nice personal touches. Thanks.

Rated by Escape548680 reviewed on 6th October 2016

We stayed in 4 rental cottages over the month we were in England/Wales and this was by far the best we encountered (and not the most expensive) It was like living in a fully furnished house, with everything included (including soap which was missing in all others). The attention to detail with the conversion was obvious as was the personal touch that Dawn has put into the property. A lovely welcome basket greeted us. If you are looking for a place to stay around the Swansea area, don't go past this one. ITS A BEAUT

A very peaceful location but with easy transport links for exploring the area. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the property and the high standard of décor and furnishings. The owner was friendly and welcoming and on hand the first evening to answer any questions.

Ysgubor Hir was superb. It was extremely relaxing and quiet. Everything about the accommodation was of very high quality. The location was ideal for exploring the area being about 40-45 minutes from the Mumbles and about 30 minutes from the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. The owners were very helpful and friendly during our stay giving advice on places to visit. We hope to stay again in the future.

A really nice barn conversion that is very well equipped throughout. The sizeable open plan kitchen/dining room makes it a very sociable space to enjoy time with family or friends. The bedrooms we found were very comfortable and the sun-trap of a patio and garden was splendid to enjoy the lovely sunny week we had. The owner has put a lot of thought in to the cottage and was very welcoming.

Very peaceful location but close enough to amenities. The owner was lovely and very helpful, but not at all intrusive. Overall a wonderful stay in a beautifully kept property. Thank you.

The barn conversion is absolutely gorgeous, so much more than a holiday let, it really feels like a home. It is perfectly located for exploring either Pembrokeshire to the west or the Gower to the east - and the coast in this area is spectacular. At the end of each day it was lovely to return to the cosy calm of Ysgubor Hir. Highly recommended, we would very much like to revisit.

An excellent property in a wonderful location, and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. The cottage felt like home from home and we would highly recommend it to everyone.

Rated by Mrs Coton reviewed on 6th July 2015

The location of the cottage was perfect. Very spacious cottage and gardens, 6 people stayed but we never felt cramped and like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was fantastic; well equipped and allowed us to cook each day with ease and no need to eat out. The outside was perfect with ample room for parking, and the children had plenty of space to play football, swing ball and with the toys provided by the owner of the cottage. The views were fantastic, looking out at the mountains and fields of cows. This cottage was the ideal getaway and although we went out every day you could quite easily stay in with the lovely views, games, DVDs and books left. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anybody wanting to stay near Swansea, and if we want to return to Wales this would be the cottage we would choose.

Rated by Mrs Allen reviewed on 28th June 2015

This accommodation should be 5 star, it's in a great location close to the m4 motorway, pubs and shops and is also on a bus route. The facilities were just great, we had a BBQ for my welsh family, 19 in total, and there was enough room for us all without feeling cramped. Cooking was easy, it had everything you could wish for, it was a home from home. We will book again when we return to Wales, wouldn't go anywhere else now we have stayed here.

Rated by Mr Jones reviewed on 10th March 2014

The cottage was to a very good standard. It is was very peaceful, but central to motorway if you wanted to go anywhere.

Rated by Ms Jones reviewed on 1st December 2013

My husband and I spent a week here, accompanied by my cousin. We hosted a family and friends reunion (five people) here one afternoon, and the cottage was large, nicely furnished, and had a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for our special event. Dawn, the owner, could not have been nicer and more helpful. Things that mattered especially to us besides the obvious: good wi-fi, heated floors, good insulation, meaning that this cottage would be comfy even on the coldest days. Be sure to get good directions. It is not far off the M4 but is tucked away a bit.

What a beautiful cottage! It was lovely and warm, very spacious and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners.

Rated by Mrs Rees reviewed on 7th April 2013

We stayed here over the New year period. The cottage has recently been completed and was therefore in excellent condition. The owners have finished the renovation to a high standard, whilst retaining traditional cottage features. Most of the cottage is on one level (with only a couple of steps), so was great for letting the children run free. The owners met us personally on our arrival and left a lovely hamper for us filled with locally sourced produce, which was a really nice touch. We would love to stay here again and would recommend it to friends.
