Spent a lovely weekend here with the girls, very chilled. Such a Lovely lodge & hot-tub (maybe have the entrance to the lodge near the tub tho as we were dripping water through the lodge) a lovely stroll to the pub on Sunday for an amazing beef dinner.

We are just about to end our week stay at 'Hazel Lodge'. We have had a fantastic time. The lodge is perfect, the hot tub is fab and the grounds are beautiful. Having a washing machine has been so great, meaning we don't go home with that feeling of all the dirty washing to do!! Gemma the manager was friendly, kind and always available to help. We will definately be back and would highly recommend to all Cannot fault a thing, has been a perfect end to our Summer holiday as a family. Thank you

Has a party of 8 normally we would be tripping over each other but this wasn't the case has our accommodation was reasonably well spaced for a medium sized Lodge, The 2nd floor helped with this as the children had there own space leaving the adults to enjoy our well deserved relaxing break, The hot tube was brilliant and kept well maintained, The weather was a total washout but didn't effect our holiday what so ever, the Hot tube was well covered so we still had use of that My only criticism would be no Wi-Fi but I personally found that not a problem giving Us all some long over due family time and interaction. I know the owners are looking into Wi Ffor the future If you do need some family bonding and a relaxing holiday, Gemma was very helpful and accommodating I would strongly recommend this break to everyone, Best regards The Ferguson Family” Mr Ferguson, West Bromwich, November 2016

Honestly couldn't praise this place enough, there were 7 of us and a dog staying in the lodge and found the split upstairs and downstairs gave the group plenty of space. The hot tub was amazing and as another reviewer states it does back onto another hottub, however, it's not overlooked as there is a 20 foot wall between the 2 and when you're in the hot tub you can't hear next door. Staff were really friendly and helpful and checked in that everything was OK throughout our stay and also recommended local places to eat and visit when asked. Great pub near by that is dog friendly, and plenty of local activities such as walks, the castle, harbour etc. Overall would certainly recommend staying here if you want a relaxing holiday with plenty to do if you don't mind 10 minutes in the car.

Needed a much needed break away from a hectic job, so booked this lodge because of the hot tub and local amenities. The location is great for fantastic walks on the edge of the Brendon Hills and there is a great pub at the top of the hill. The accommodation was excellent. It was spotlessly clean. It was great we could take our two dogs who enjoyed the gardens immensely. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need, not that we did much cooking. There is a great Indian down the road that delivers! It was reassuring to know that the hot tubs are completely emptied and cleaned after every guest. Overall a great stay and would like to thank the hosts Lynn and Lloyd for a lovely getaway!

We wanted to stay somewhere offering a little bit of luxury and were not disappointed at Hazel Lodge. It is part of a small holiday complex with other lodges in a semi rural location but near to the coast and Exmoor. The lodge was fitted to a high standard and we felt that there was no expense spared on the oak furniture in the dining room and the kitchen was well-equipped, although we did only have breakfast there. The hot tub was great to come back to in the evening after a day out walking or cycling. We found the manager to be welcoming and helpful and she recommended some good local eateries and places to visit. Having read the previous review about paying a deposit for the Playstation controller, we were surprised at this guests disappointment as we have found this to be the case at other properties we have stayed in. We happily paid our deposit which was returned when we returned the controllers at the end of our stay. Although we did not take a dog with us it is a great location for people with dogs and obviously they need to be kept on a lead in consideration of other people staying. There are lots of good walks in the area for those with or without a dog. We had a great weekend away and hope to return next year.

Looking at pictures of lodge looks remote when in fact four lodges are together our hot tub backed on to the next lodges hot tub. Advertised as dog friendly but the garden was not secured. The lodge has a PS3 game machine I rang the owner to ask where the controller was and told £50 deposit for the controller and £100 for two controllers and games so didn't bother. Had a good telling off next day by the Manager Gemma for ringing the owner and not her. The toilet is a septic tank list of things not to put in. The eight seater dining set was inches from the only toilet downstairs not pleasant. The rubbish had to be taken to the main gates which was too far for me and my husband as we are disabled pensioners, mostly son in law took it whilst walking the dogs we would have had to drive there. Towels not supplied for hot tub. No welcome pack just two toilet rolls and salt and pepper set. Not happy big sign at gate saying concealed CCTV cameras on site !!! On our last day the Manager came over as soon as we arrived back in the evening accusing us of not picking up dog poo. We know who wasn't picking up their dog poo and it wasn't us but she wasn't having that as she had seen the other guest with a poo bag all very well but he never used it. I did try to explain you should not accuse anyone with no evidence. We were then told to be out of the hot tub by 8pm and given a list of jobs to do before we left in the morning. It was definitely not a relaxed holiday felt uneasy and uncomfortable. Have been on holiday before with Sykes cottages and really enjoyed ourselves never been to anything like this one.

It was a lovely lodge that was fully equipped with everything one needed. The lodge was very clean and in a very good location for seeing the local attractions.

Hazel Lodge was one of the cleanest and best kept properties we have ever holidayed in. The garden was kept really well and the hot tub was fantastic. It was away from it all and yet close to some lovely places to visit. It really is a very special place and somewhere to relax and unwind. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Rated by Mrs Casey reviewed on 11th July 2015

The cottage was comfortable, homely and clean with more than enough of everything we needed. In particular we found the bed very comfortable and absolutely loved the hot tub every night. Amazing. The surroundings were peaceful; we slept so well and awoke to fabulous views. The weather was too warm for the wood burning stove but would be lovely in cooler weather. Lots of beautiful places nearby to visit. Best holiday I have ever had!

Rated by Miss Oliver reviewed on 18th November 2014

We stayed at the Hazel lodge in September 2014 for a holiday with my husband, his sister and her partner. The lodge was well placed, with all of the amenities that you would need for a good holiday, with the lodge being split into two with outside access, it was perfect for two couples to independently be able to share and have separate holidays at the same time. The upstairs had its own mini kitchen so you can get up and start your day without disturbing anyone downstairs. The hot tub was great, you cannot use from 15:00 the day before leaving but this is so they can empty and clean for the next guest, so it is nice to know that it was clean for us on first use. Dunstar Castle is a must go if you vist, also if you go to Blue Anchor Beach the café there (driftwood café) is a great spot for a bit of lunch.

The garden area was fantastic for our 2 year old and for the dog too. Loved the hot tub! Comfortable beds, well equipped cottage and perfect for 2 families.

Rated by Miss Webb reviewed on 7th July 2014

The hot tub was a massive plus, it is top of the range and really well maintained. The location was perfect for our needs - golf, beach, and space for our 3 year old to play in the garden, and the recommendation of Doniford Farm was a great hit. The accommodation was the perfect size for our family.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The best part for us was having a hot tub, it was a home from home experience. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very well equipped, the bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely, the front room is made very cosy with the wood burner. I will be recommending this property to other friends and family members. All in all, it was a great weekend

Rated by Miss Lewis reviewed on 4th February 2014

The Lodge was very clean, warm and welcoming. The lodge was furnished to an excellent standard and guidelines could be found to use the equipment and find our way around the local area. We were local to the supermarket and there was plenty of do even over the Christmas period.

Being able to spend time together as a family and having our own space when we needed it.it was great. The children loved visiting the zoo which was only a short walk away; so we did not have to use the car. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub very much.

Amazing property, with everything you would need for two families staying there. It was in immaculate condition when we arrived, and the owner was very helpful and always available for assistance with local information, as well as things to do with the cottage. The location was great for local, quiet villages and beaches, but within easy reach of Minehead for the large supermarkets and chain shops.

We spent an amazing week here - we were two families, 4 adults, 4 children (aged 4-7) and the lodge was perfect! Inside was a comfortable living area with a sofa big enough for all 8 of us, a dining area with a table that sat 8 and a well equipped kitchen. The downstairs bathroom was stunning (wet room) and the two bedrooms were perfect for one of the families (a double and a twin). Upstairs (accessed by an external staircase) were two twin rooms seperated by a lovely bathroom (with shower) and a kitchenette (toaster, 2 ring hob, kettle, sink) - perfect for a second family! The only downside to the upstairs was that one couple had to sleep in twin beds rather than a double but we got round that!!! ;o) The grounds were perfect for the kids to run around in without us worrying about traffic or them running off, there was a BBQ and the hot tub was amazing!!! Locally there were lots of things to explore, lots of little villages and quiet local beaches while Minehead (for Morrisons and Tesco) was only a 15min drive away - Tropiquaria across the road was fun and the monkeys were a fun alarm call!!! We got a take-away one evening from Mama Chins in Watchett (they deliver and you can pay by card) and it was the best Chinese I've had in a long time! Overall an amazing holiday in an amazing lodge, looking into booking again next year...
