In a word "Wow".... On arrival we were shown to our own off road parking space, and then the owner opened the front door to our little hideaway for the long weekend. Beautiful, there was soft music playing, dimmed lights, tea lights... lovely.... The cottage is tastefully decorated and really cosy. Sky TV, DVD player, Music player, internet and books and DVDs to borrow. The kitchen area is extremely well equipped with a dishwasher and just off the kitchen is a fridge freezer and washing machine, for a little cotgage the owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a log burner to make the cold evenings more romantic!! The bedroom has amazing views and again, tastefully decorated and equipped, beautiful shower area and bathroom. It is local to lots of visiting areas including Haworth, Skipton and other beautiful areas of interest. We've stayed in lots of different accommodation over the years and this is up there with the best, the owners care about the property and care that you will enjoy your stay there, for me, that speaks volumes. We have now found our new bolt hole in that area now, suffice to say we will definitely be returning... Thanks for a lovely long weekend break and see you soon... Spencer and Nicky..

We stayed at this farm Cottage for a week. When we arrived it was late evening and it was so welcoming.Soft music playing and candles lit to feel extra cozy. We also had lovely gifts when we arrived , bottle of wine, box of chocolates , milk and eggs. Cottage had everything including an amazing shower and stunning views from bedroom. It is well placed for visiting surrounding area. Yvonne and Michael are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be going back.

Firstly our hosts were wonderful! Secondly, the cottage was perfect. Very clean, cosy & convenient, and the view from the upstairs bedroom over the countryside to the village beyond was stunning. The shower is a marvel of modern engineering! Lastly, it was so peaceful that we didn't want to leave! A great place to tour beautiful Yorkshire from. Thank you also, Yvonne for the treats, li"ke fresh eggs on arrival, and wine& chocolates, We feel privileged to have met you.

The owner was friendly and helpful, yet we were left to our own privacy. There was a supply of logs and kindling for the burner and the heating was excellent. The washing machine and dryer was an absolute bonus. It was cosy and beautifully furnished, perfect for two and those wanting seclusion. There was a marvellous farm shop close by selling everything you need, not just food.

I loved the jazz piano playing when I walked in and the cottage was already heated! It made me feel instantly relaxed and at ease after a difficult day. The whole cottage was super clean! The bed sheets felt so good, they felt expensive to me, and such fluffy carpets and squishy armchairs, with great thick heavy curtains to keep you asleep. The appliances all seemed new, and/or are kept in impeccable condition including a beautiful Bosch gas hob! The shower was amazing, so many jets and a seat in there too! Everything has been so carefully thought out; all adding to the delightfully homely feel. The whole cottage was such a breath of fresh cosy air after staying in travel lodges and was all that I was hoping for. It was far enough into the countryside that it's quiet and you get a great view but close enough to get into Thornton village.

Our hostess could not have been more helpful. There were candles burning and music quietly playing when we arrived plus a welcome pack of wine chocolates and milk. The kitchen and utility area had everything we needed. There was an incredible farm shop about a mile away and good pub food available not too far away. We had an interesting time in Haworth and Saltaire also a NT property nearby. A very successful short break in a cosy cottage.

The welcome was so friendly, the cottage immaculate, with welcoming gifts of goodies, it was so comfortable and well appointed. Access to the beautiful garden and a vey sunny spot (thank you, weather!) added to the general peace and our ability to leave busy life behind. Not only was the cottage and its environment wonderful, easy access to a range of walks in hills and round lakes and reservoirs7th Juine made it all the more healthy

Rated by Barbara reviewed on 20th August 2013

This is a very pleasant cottage, clean and with all the amenities that make a stay a pleasure. There is just one small moan that cannot be helped unfortunately. Whilst the upstairs is wonderfully light with beautiful views across the valley, the downstairs of this cottage is rather dim, because the window faces a single storey outbuilding and there are thick beige nets covering the window, obviously to hide this building. The lights are wall lights not particularly conducive for reading. The small kitchen has no window at all. As this is a holiday home, most people will be out and about during daylight hours so this should not be much of a problem, but if you do like plenty of light this place may not be for you. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful and apart from the light, which is a personal bugbear of mine, this is a lovely well equipped and comfortable cottage.

The cottage was very good value and the owners were exceptionally attentive and helpful. The cottage is a lovely place to stay, and we particularly liked the views, the wood burner and the proximity to the farm shop. We've stayed in lots of Sykes Cottages and this was one of our favourites.

Came here with my girlfriend to relax for the weekend during her busy university schedule. Lovely romantic getaway for two! It has that cosy cottage feel but with modern features such as sky television (even in the bedroom) and fast wireless internet. The kitchen was modern and even had a dishwasher so no washing up! Basics such as tea, coffee, cling film etc are provided so you only need to buy the food needed for your stay and with a supermarket five minutes down the road no need to travel miles. Parking available on arrival and the owners allow you to get on with your visit with no interruption. On an added note - a must is the view from the bedroom at night. Seeing all the lights is very special.
