Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Me and my family stayed at stable cottage for 7 nights, the cottage is beautiful inside and outside, it is really spacious and catered really well for all 5 of us! the location is breath taking as the farm/cottage is surrounded by mountains and wildlife, (every turn is photograph moment) my children really enjoyed feeding the pet pigs and also enjoyed playing on the play area, stable cottage really had everything we wanted and more, we will certainly stay at stable cottage again!! Thank you for having us, from the Scotney's :)
Just enjoyed a lovely weeks stay here , accommodation was great and friendly owners. Kids loved it and the perfect base to explore the lakes and the dales will definitely be coming back.
The cottage felt homely, warm and welcoming. It was a fantastic place for me and my friends to catch up with one another again in a relaxed environment. The location itself also helped as well, but the accommodation was excellent without doubt.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very clean, well equipped ( apart from tongs - needed for the grill !). Directions were good, communication was good. Beds were comfy, shower powerful, heating easy to use.
We are a family of 5, but we never felt cramped as the rooms were spacious. The property was in a great location and the owners were friendly.
We spend a wonderful week here. They accomodation is of high standard and very homely. The landscape is awsome. The location makes both the Lake District and the Dales National Park easy to access. Our daugther could blow some steam off on the little playground or by trying to pet the free roaming sheeps (who didn't want to be touched and gave her a nice chase). The owners are absolutely lovely and very friendly. They want out of there way and beyond to help us when we had trouble with a garage after our car broke down. This was the best holiday accomodation we ever had in the UK.
A great place for a family holiday. The kids loved being able to help around the farm. The owners were very friendly and were happy to allow our kids to help with the lambing and the horses. You really do not have to go far from the house; the nearby disused railway gives you access to wonderful scenery whether walking or cycling. The nearby trout farm was a good day out and provided a meal to boot.
Lovely place to stay. Very clean. Owners fantastic. Adults and children enjoyed our farm tour. Children asking when we are going back. Even has wifi for teenage son!
Lovely, quaint property in a beautiful location. Nice views from the chairs in the front yard. Very friendly hosts and an excellent location to explore the Dales and Lake District.
This was an ideal setting for visiting nearby attractions. The owners and their family were very nice people and nothing was too much trouble. My family enjoyed the tour of the farm and meeting some of the animals. In passing we were always asked if everything was ok and did we need anything. It's these little things that make a difference.
