Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Lovely cottage; high chair put in even though we had not even requested it showing thoughtfulness and care. While the owners are always available to help they don't intrude at all. We and the children loved the tour of the farm including bottle feeding the lamb. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable stay in a beautiful area.
I stayed at Old Byre Cottage with my husband, two small children, and our dog. The accommodations are clean and nicely decorated. The location is beautiful with the hills surrounding and the farm animals all around. My boys loved watching the farm every day, the upside down cottage, the bunk beds, and seeing new things. It is a bit of a drive to the lakes, probably 45 min each way depending on what side you are going on, but not too strenuous. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some relaxing peace and quiet.
It was just exactly what me and my partner (and 2 small breed dogs) needed. Perfectly situated for any number of good walks and the Cottage felt very homely for us. It was our first holiday together and I can imagine we will come back over the years to reminisce a great great weekend.
Lovely setting and cottage. Very relaxing break, just what we needed.
A lovely cottage and lovely location, brilliant for children and dogs. The owners were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
The cottage is in a simply stunning location on a working farm with easy access to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The cottage was scrupulously clean and the owner popped round about 20 minutes after I arrived to see if I needed anything. My 20 month old son was entertained for hours by the farm animals and had a lovely time being shown around the farm by the farmer.
Fantastic cottage on a working farm with lovely, friendly, helpful farmer and family. Ideal for access to Lakes, Dales and the west coast.
Excellent all round! Our son spent time with the owners on the farm and loved every minute of it. He was very well looked after. The cottage was just as described and very cosy. We shall definitely book again.
