Reviews

We travelled to the Yorkshire Dales for Christmas and decided to extend our stay. So was looking for a last minute rental - we came across Hayloft cottage - what a jewel. Just 4 miles from the well serviced town Kirkby Stephen (fab butchers, bakers, chemist, co-op), Hayloft cottage was a wonderful find. Exceptionally clean, well equipped kitchen, good bathroom facilities with a great shower, a good size living area, great bedroom (we had 2 6ft wide beds made up - but the room will accommodate multiple configurations) and a warm and cozy home. The owners Diane and Michael are wonderful hosts - friendly, informative and nothing too much trouble. The views from the upstairs living area are fabulous and the cottage is in a great location for walks with (or without!) dogs. I cannot praise this home enough - great location for Lake District and the Penine Way area and the Yorkshire Dales. We had a fabulous new year stay and hope to return in the not too distant future.

We were meeting up with family over Christmas in Ravenstonedake & Hayloft Cottage was our base for 4 nights. We only used it to sleep. The cottage is one of three on the farm. It's cosy, warm & functional. It could probably do with some updates in its Decor. It has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We didn't explore the surrounding area when we were there in December. The entrance to the cottages is through a tight turn from the road and it was made more difficult by someone parking their car opposite the entrance (we scratched our car due to this). There was another tight turn before getting to the parking area of Hayloft. If you have a large car this prove to be difficult !

The Hayloft cottage is in a very peaceful location but near to all road arteries so getting about for sight seeing is a breeze. On our arrival we were greeted by the owner Dianne who made us feel very welcome and on entering the cottage we found it well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bedroom and bathroom are on ground level with the living area on the first floor so you get a lovely view of your surroundings. Dog friendly pubs serving good ale and food are only a short drive away if your like me and not too energetic and don't fancy a brisk walk. Will definitely come and stay here again when next visiting the Lakes.

Lovely rural Cottage with upside down accommodation to appreciate the excellent views of the surrounding area. Ideal for our dogs with fields and walks straight from the door, so peaceful and quiet. Will highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning again.

We enjoyed a weeks stay with our 2 dogs at this excellent cottage, it has walks straight from the door and surrounded by open fields which our dogs loved. A very well presented, cosy peaceful cottage with upside down accommodation to appreciate the great views. Great walks in the nearby villages of Ravenstonedale & Newbiggin on Lune with good pubs which all allow dogs and serve great food. Very friendly & helpful owners...will highly recommend this cottage and will return again.

Lovely cottage with great owners who were really nice and very helpful to us. Huge fenced off field which our dog, Shadow, absolutely loved. Definitely would recommend for people who want some peace, quiet, amazing views in the day and star-gazing at night. Two dog friendly pubs, only a 30 mins scenic walk away, both with nice menus and decor. If you like a steak then the Kings Head is a must! A Merry Christmas was had by all. Many thanks to Diane and Michael for our stay xxx

Hayloft Cottage gave us everything we wanted. Lovely cottage, gorgeous scenery, fresh air, country smells and the sounds of the lowing and bleating of animals made a welcome change. The cottage itself was warm, clean and very comfortable. I am sure that it won't be long before we return to this idyllic location.
