Reviews

It was a good location for a relaxing break & touring the area. The owners were very friendly and on hand if required. We have stayed before and would do again.

The owner is the most welcoming hosts and Ridge Cottage is in an idyllic setting for a cottage A perfect base for Northumberland venues.

Due to the immaculate condition of the cottage this was one of the most relaxing breaks we have taken in a holiday cottage. It was also lovely to meet the owners who were extremely helpful during our stay. The cottage was cosy, warm and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in returning for further visits or recommending it to friends and family.

It was peaceful and tranquil, yet convenient for coast and national park etc. The owners were very friendly and helpful, without being at all intrusive. The best cottage we've stayed in by far.

This recent stay was the first time Anna and I had had chance to explore the lovely county of Northumberland. The choice of accommodation can make a great influence on one's enjoyment of a holiday. Ridge Cottage was perfect in every way - the location was in the countryside, positioned in a very handy spot for visiting the main delights of the county - we went to Lindisfarne, Cragside, the lovely village of Morpeth and even manage a call-in at Newcastle. The cottage is well-equipped with modern utilities to fit the needs of any self-caterer, it was spotlessly clean, comfortable and private. There was plenty of wildlife in the area - we saw a hare and a great variety of birds. We will be returning for a future holiday - we have only scratched the surface of this delightful county

Northumberland was lovely and the Cottage was superb, very spacious and warm with underfloor heating. Everything you could want was in the kitchen, just like home, and the owners had thought of everything to make your holiday comfortable and enjoyable. One of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in.

This holiday home had everything that we needed. We had a most welcoming arrival, the drive to the area is most attractive as is the surrounding countryside, the walks are most easily accessible and the cottage itself is warm and comfortable throughout. The welcome pack on arrival is a particularly nice touch. We would recommend this to anyone requiring somewhere to enjoy the sights of Northumberland.

This Cottage was set in beautiful countryside. It seemed a pity to leave it but it was very convenient for visiting throughout Northumberland. We felt thoroughly welcome and at ease, it was really relaxing to be there.

Deep in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, Ridge Cottage was warm and welcoming and within easy reach of most of the beauty spots. The owners were equally warm and friendly and most helpful whenever requested. A good four star accommodation.

A lovely find indeed! The photos do not do this property justice. Every room was nicely decorated and well thought out. The kitchen had all you could want and more. Slept very well and relaxed just as well in the living room. Would highly recommend.

The welcome pack on arrival such a lovely touch with flowers and welcoming card as well. The cleanliness and calmness of the property and the owners were delightful, nothing was too much trouble for them.

The location and the cottage was beautiful. Everything you could possibly need was provided. A welcome basket was a wonderful addition and the owners were very friendly.

Rated by Mrs Horsfield reviewed on 26th February 2014

The peace and solitude of the property is undeniably attractive. The fact that I could take two dogs with me into the cottage was an advantage and the open countryside is ideal for walking. It is tastefully decorated to a high standard with modern tones and is fully equipped with many small touches which make the stay enjoyable. The underfloor heating was wonderful and gave the cottage a very cosy and relaxed feeling. I was sorry to leave!

The cottage was exactly as described and we could not fault the accommodation. There was a welcome pack awaiting us when we arrived which was really appreciated. There were plenty of nearby walks to exercise our dog and definitely dog friendly. We enjoyed ourselves so much we intend to return for another couple of weeks in 2014 as we have family nearby and it enables us to take a break and also fit in the family visits. There are many places to visit and these are well known to us.

Very clean and tidy cottage that was comfortable and well equipped. It is probably as far from civilisation as you can manage in England. Pitch black nights and wonderful walks. It is also a great location to explore the wonderful North East.
