Reviews

Stayed Friday to Monday for a long weekend as a retirement birthday weekend away with family. The cottage was lovely and clean on arrival and appeared well equipped with everything we needed. We found the cottage clean and comfortable and have no complaints at all. The underfloor heating was a real treat too. The layout of the house is great especially having the dining table large enough to seat everyone in the kitchen as everyone can be together while cooking or prepping door in the kitchen. Located close enough to lots of lovely places to visit and even though its located on a main road, the traffic noise is bearable. Would definitely book again to stay

11 people in our family group and all thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas at Green Banks and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. From the Christmas decorations to the large living area and the glorious hot tub all in all a wonderful family Christmas.

An excellent property in a great location, where local attractions are easily accessible. The Peak Rail steam railway is just 5 minutes walk away and the kids (and the adults!) had a great time getting the steam train into Matlock.

The house was finished to a very high standard, it was great for large groups but with a very homely feel.

Great house. Very clean, nicely furnished and in a fabulous location for Matlock, Bakewell, and Chatsworth. The rooms are a very good size and the kitchen is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

The bed linen was lovely and bathrooms were out of this world! There was plenty of room for all of us to sit down for dinner at the table, the under floor heating downstairs is great.

The property was well maintained and had all the facilities needed to make our stay comfortable. In particular, the arrangement of the bedrooms had been well thought out and was perfect for three generations of our family to holiday together.

It was stunning. We had 6 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of room for all of us. We would consider returning again. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautiful and the décor was lovely.

"This was a very warm, cosy, and well furnished house that easily accommodates 12. I would describe it as finished to a high spec - good value. The kitchen was well equipped and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were impressive."

The cottage was ideal for our stay - plenty of room for all 10 adults and 2 toddlers. We loved the bathrooms and the layout of the lounge meant the boys could watch the telly while the girls nattered at the other end! Good location for trips out to Chatsworth, Curbar Edge, Matlock and Bakewell. Everything was nicely finished and it was great having things like bed linen, towels and cleaning things provided, as well as well stocked kitchen cupboards with pots and pans etc. We appreciated the large telly, the internet access and good parking for all our cars. We had a brilliant stay!

Not only would I recommend Stanley House to friends, but I will definitely be visiting again. The accommodation was beautiful, we couldn't have asked for a nicer house to stay in for the weekend. There are shops and pubs close by for those of you who want to venture out, and for those who want to stay in and cook (even for large groups), there is a large oven AND microwave oven. The owner was extremely polite and welcoming, especially meeting us late on the day of our check in as we couldn't get there until 10pm!

Modern, comfortable, warm house.

We loved Stanley House! We were there for my hen weekend and found the property to be plenty big enough for the 8 of us who stayed overnight and the 12 or so people who passed through visiting across the weekend. The big living space and kitchen diner were a particular highlight as at no point were my friends split between rooms, we could all comfortably hang out in one space. Have to say the showers were also particularly spectacular, the decor was clean and modern throughout and the pictures don't do Stanley House's homely warmth justice.

Everything was perfect. There was plenty of room for a family of 12, including 2 children, 2 toddlers and 1 infant.
