This is the best self catering accommodation we have ever used! The lounge is roomy and well furnished. The kitchen is exceptionally appointed and well planned. The beds are very comfortable. Both bathrooms are finished to a high standard. For the technical minded the WiFi is up to 4.2 megabytes per second! They also have chrome cast on the tv. We brought a Amazon fire stick to watch through Netflix, amazon prime and Disney plus. The owners Graham and Erica are lovely people. They aren’t far should you need anything but you also have lots of privacy. Space for two cars which we had with us. Stunning walks along Pocklington canal. We hope to return here soon.

We have just come back from a really lovely week with family at Lilliput cottage Melbourne York. It was modern spacious and very home from home. The owners were great, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and on hand if we needed them.(We didn't as everything was spot on). Our little Westie loved it there and the owner made a fuss of him whenever he seen him. We had 2 fab walk in showers and a fully fitted kitchen with everything you could possibly need. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks again Sharon Chris and Barney. xx

We had a lovely week staying at Lilliput Lodge - home from home. We were greeted by the owner on arrival who showed us around the property. We were welcomed with a bottle of milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and sugar. He was very knowledgable about the local area and facilities - he told us about the local pub, the nearby Pocklington Canal, walks along the canal and directions to get to it. The property itself has everything you could possibly need, and was spotlessly clean. One double bedroom upstairs with a wet/shower room and a twin bedroom on the ground floor also with an adjacent wet/shower room. These wet rooms were amazing with underfloor heating and very spacious shower spaces. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, double oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. There is even a food processor. The spacious lounge area with good seating, TV and DVD player is a real sun trap, the fans provided by the owner were much appreciated. It also has WiFi Internet. The owner had also provided a selection of DVD's, books, board games, jigsaw's and up to date leaflets and booklets on the local area and places to visit. The property is in a good location for Holiday makers. The Melbourne Arms is a 20min walk away and serves excellent food and is highly recommended, pre book for Sunday Lunch as it is very popular with the locals. A mobile Fish and Chip van parks at the Village Hall on a Thursday evening and serves good quality fresh fish and chips. Pocklington Canal is pleasant to walk along. The York Maze and Yorkshire Air Museum are a short distance up the road. York is a must to visit, use Grimston Bar Park and Ride for convenience. Highly recommended and one of the best properties we have stayed in.

I noticed the heading said Melbourne, Derbyshire although the photo is of Lillieput Lodge Melbourne in the East Riding of Yorkshire. A warm welcome from the owners. A very comfortable stay and everything we needed for a great Christmas. Lovely and quiet and in the countryside. I'm afraid we can't comment on any local sightseeing as it was something of a very wet end to the year so we just stayed inside and kept nice and dry and warm.

The cottage was lovely and spacious and was well presented and spotlessly clean. There was everything you could need. The shower rooms were gorgeous and it was a bonus having two of them. The village has a small local shop and the pub serves great food.

We stayed at Liiiput Lodge with our friend for four nights over the new year period. The cottage is immaculately presented, very spacious and spotlessly clean. There is all the equipment you could ever need and plenty of it. It's ideal for friends as it has a downstairs bedroom and a fantastic shower room which is repeated upstairs. The owners also live on site so are there to help if necessary. The Melbourne Arms in the village serves excellent food and the village shop is very handy. There are also plenty of shops and a couple of supermarkets in nearby Pocklington. We visited the coast which is about an hour away and had a good day out in Beverley. We hope to return, maybe in the springtime and bring out bikes with us at the quiet, flat roads would make for excellent cycling. Thanks Erica and Graham, we will be back.

We have stayed at Lillieput Lodge before, and it is a fantastic place to stay, the bathrooms are lovely, with large walk in showers in each. The wood burning stove in the lounge is really good.

Super facilities, 2 separate bedrooms with their own bathrooms and walk in showers, fully equipped kitchen and log burning stove, the owners live next door . Its in the heart of the country, you will get agricultural aromas. Your satnav will take you to the wrong address, check with owners for details.

What a lovely cottage and all utilities and amenities are fully catered for. Very clean and comfortable and such friendly and helpful owners. Two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs with walk in showers, beautifully equipped. Fully equipped kitchen, washer, tumble dryer, oven, dishwasher and all the pans and utensils you could ever need. The only very small downside was that there was not an enclosed garden for the dog, but if well behaved will have no problems. Highly recommended and a beautiful cottage

The cottage was in a good position for touring around Yorkshire well equipped and comfortable. We particularly liked the fact that both bedrooms had their own beautiful shower room. As I am disabled I was delighted that there was easy access to the downstairs bedroom and shower room.

We received a warm welcome at Lilliput cottage from the owners who live in adjacent accommodation. The house was light and airy with a comfortable sitting room/diner and a really well equipped kitchen. It has not long been built and the garden was still work in progress. There were two bathrooms with level access walk in shower, bidet, wash hand basin and lavatory. Heated towel rails were welcomed the first week as it was sunny but cold. By week 2 the weather had changed to summer and became quite hot at times. The first floor bedroom had beautiful open views of the Wolds. We enjoyed walks along the tow path of the historic Pocklington Canal - within 5 minutes walk of the house. Pocklington is a pretty market town nearby with a beautiful gardens and tea room accessible for a small entrance fee. York is not far away with Park and Ride the best option for visiting its many tourist attractions. We visited Whitby, Riveaulx, and Fountains abbeys, Harewood House - the home of the Queen's cousins, and the North York Moors. We particularly liked the peaceful countryside in which this accommodation is situated and its ease of access to York and the Wolds. We would happily return to Lilliput Lodge at some time in the future.
